Holiday Inn Express Lordstown-Newton Falls/Warren, an IHG Hotel

"Based on the reviews I booked the room and felt good about my choice. When I got there the rooms were dirty and not maintained. The carpet seems moist and dirty. I cannot understand why the reviews were high. This is a one star hotel and there is no way the reviews can be legitimate. Buyer beware."

"I’m not sure where anyone would give this a 4 rating. I stood at the front desk to check and the front desk clerk just sat there and continued to do whatever she was doing. She didn’t acknowledge me or say anything so I walked away and went to the restroom. Restroom smelled like urine and trash was overfilled in the restroom. So then I started to think what the rooms were going to be like. Came back to the desk and there was another gentleman who started to check me in. Than all the suddenly there was yelling and screaming coming down the hall where housekeeping was yelling and cursing at each other dropping f-bombs and calling each other B*+chs. One housekeeper was even yelling that the other saying she doesn’t take the time to change the sheets on the beds. All of this while the guy checking me in acting like nothing was happening and this was normal everyday activity. Not something you want to hear while checking into a hotel or if I was in any of those rooms hearing outside my door. Pool was halfway drained and didn’t look operational in some time. With the statement the lady said from housekeeping made me check the bed, found hair and just some spots on the sheets. Needless to say I didn’t stay here and had to drive 40 miles just to find a decent hotel."

"Review claims it's a great hotel, it is not! It smells musty when you walk in. While getting ready to pay for the room with my Cc the price was different the guy didn't say anything at first and when I said the price is, he said ya its a fee that we will get back when we checked out. Get to the room which was right above the main lobby. Room smelled musty. Bed felt like your feet were above your head. With being above the lobby we heard noises all night long, so didn't get much sleep. Didn't even try the breakfast just wanted to get ready and leave. Don't wanna leave any stars it's not worth the money to stay. Also stayed a a cheaper room/hotel the night before and that hotel made us feel like we were at home away from home."

"Great value, great hotel: we have stayed there more than 15 times over the last 20 years, most recently May 2024. Great hotel. Rooms very clean and modern. Especially pleased at the comfort of the beds and the more-than-excellent room lighting (which means much to us). This is the only place we will stay in northeastern Ohio. Five miles from Warren."

"Was completely pleased with my first stay at this Holiday Inn Express. Although I booked it from the road an hour earlier, the front desk had everything ready for me when I arrived. The entire room was clean and spacious, with a really comfortable king bed. Sure, there were some noisy people in the hallway early in the morning, but you can't expect the hotel staff to have complete control of how loud guests are. The options for breakfast were what I've encountered at other HI Express locations, delicious cinnamon rolls, eggs & sausage, pancakes, along with other continental breakfast items. I left comfortably full. Overall, NO complaints and nothing but praise for my first stay here."
