"He saved my leg after another doctor made mistakes on my knee replacement 16 years ago. It is still great. He even rebuilt my kneecap. It is perfect. He replaced my other knee and one of my husband’s. He is extremely nice."
"I had a extremely bad fall and infection settled in my knee. I was facing possible amputation. Dr. Sewecke saved my leg. I can now walk with no limp and no cane. Thank you Dr. your the best."
"Worst experience with a doctor I have ever had- I'm convinced the majority of reviews on here are either fake or self reviews. I had a tib/fib break three weeks ago, which the doctor refused to change the dressings on and I ended up at Jefferson for rehab for 10 days (the best thing that could've happened). They were unable to get a hold of Dr. Sewecke's office (which of course he denies) and luckily they had the sense at Jefferson to change the dressings so I wouldn't get an infection (there was blood coming through the dressings for about a week as well). The kind home health nurse I had after discharge told me to ask the doctor about a paper for the rod in the leg in regards to going through metal detectors, etc and when I asked him he proceeded to call her an idiot and say they give them to terrorists too (who says that?). He also told me to just push through my excruciating pain and left the office abruptly before any additional questions could be asked. I will not be going back to see him and would be delighted to hear if he lost his medical license. Would give a 0 if I could."
"I crashed in a motocross accident in eastern Ohio in 2003. I shattered my left ankle and dislocated it. It was a horrible injury that was almost unrepairable. I was lifeflighted to Allegheny General from Dover, Ohio (a hospital that could not treat my Injuries). Dr Sewecke was able to rebuild my ankle, and although I lost mobility, he saved my ability to walk and live a normal life. My ankle was destroyed and he put me back together. 15 years later I still have 3 screws in my ankle, and I have about 70% mobility and I can walk, hike, jog... and function normally with moderate arthritis. He is an amazing surgeon."
"Dr. Sewecke and his team saved my life. On 10/23/15, I fell down a flight of stairs and experienced a Pilon fracture of the left tibia and fibula. The paramedics didn't even know what to do with me. The first hospital they took me to rejected me and sent me to AGH in a second ambulance. Had all of this not happened, I never would have met Dr. Sewecke- and without him and his team, today I would likely have been an amputee. Do a quick Google search of "Pilon Fracture" and you'll quickly see how rare and serious this injury is. There are high rates of complications. High rates of infections. High rates of poor outcomes. Greater chances of resulting in amputation and/or poor quality of life, post op. There is no other way to say it: My leg bones exploded when I hit the ground. They were in fragments and pieces. Dr. Sewecke is deliberate and methodical. He weighs decisions carefully. He involved me (and my family while I was incapacitated) in his decisions. This man cares about his patients. He called me PERSONALLY at home many times just to check on me and talk to me. He even called me on Thanksgiving. He even prefers to keep things on a first name basis, introducing himself as "Jeff" and not "Doctor." He has never rushed me- not once. If I want to keep talking or asking questions, he continues to focus on me for as long as I need. He makes me feel like I am his only patient and he is here only for me. His bedside manner is like no other. I have the utmost respect for this man and the way he treats others. He may never know how grateful I am for him and his team. It's been 6 months since my injury- and I can walk again because of Dr. Sewecke and his team- with barely a limp. I don't need a walker. I don't need crutches. I don't need a cane. I was able to go back to work. I can still support my family. I can hunt, fish, and push the clutch when I drive my old classic car. I still have work to do in physical therapy, but he gave me back my chance at life as I know it. As a patient, I can tell you this: Do what the Doctor says. If he tells you to change your diet- do it. If he tells you to quit nicotine- do it. If he tells you to take your medications- do it. If he tells you not to walk on it- don't. Your outcome will be in direct correlation to how well you followed the Doctors instructions. He is not telling you these things just to make conversation. Thank you, Dr. Sewecke- and your team: Dr. Wilson, nurses Kathy and Cathy- and all the others from your practice who helped me and my family through this traumatic and trying time. I am forever grateful."
