"Started my invisalign before COVID. Originally, wanted metal braces and was swayed to Invisalign by Dr. Kate and her team; as Dr. Kate said it would cost the same and take the same amount of time. All the maintenance, remembering to put them back in, removing them anytime you eat or drink (except water), if you misplace even one stage, progression is on you (the patient) and Dr. Kate gets paid the same as if you are metal braces and she/her staff are working on your braces (adjusting brackets, switching wires, etc., doesnt occur with Invisalign). $6,800 and it's all on the patient. Same cost without any of their services being rendered. COVID hit, I lost my job and I was now responsible for the remaining amount the insurance didn't pay yet. I made payments and explained the situation I was in until I landed my next opportunity. The staff was rude and uncompassionate, lacking empathy to the point I cried in the waiting area in front of other patients and the front office staff from embarrassment and the way they treated me on display for everyone to see and hear. Dr. Kate wrote off the late charges of $5.00 x12. Her staff treated me that way over $60 of late charges when the world around us was falling apart and people were dying and jobless. I paid off the balance 2 months later after landing a job. My financial hardship experienced from the impacts of COVID was shared with others in our neighborhood. HIPAA violation at its finest. Fast forward to removal of brackets of the Invisalign. I was given 4 retainers to last eternity in their eyes I'm now finding out. They get gross regardless of brushing them and I even have a specialized spa like machine with cleansing tablets to clean them nightly. A year later and I call to get new retainers because again, it's a year later. Was never advised a time limit all 4 should last. Front office personnel tells me it's going to cost $450 to get one new retainer. WHAT?! I was told replacement retainers were included in the $6,800!!! Office staff stated Dr. Kate is out of the office and they will to wait to talk to her before waiving the fee and/or getting back to me. Again, tone in voice is "this is not my problem. I'm not here to help. I'm here to make Dr. Kate money and that's what we care about." Lies and deceit and awful customer service and empathy. You're a number and a dollar sign. Find a different Orthodontics office. Choose customer service, and empathy over convenience. There are other competitors close by. Read the reviews and save yourself the trouble and bad experience. There is a reason for the lower rating and the bad reviews."
