"Beer Culture is one of my favorite bars in NYC. A haven from the madness of midtown, this intimate neighborhood haunt boasts an amazing craft beer selection (with 16 taps and an extensive variety of cans available in the fridge to stay or to-go). I also delight in the fact that next to the big fridge there is a basic fridge with basic beers for those with basic needs. And I mean this with the utmost respect as sometimes you just really need a good old miller high life instead of a fancy beer. Be aware that this bar has a strict beer and whiskey only policy, but their selection of both is on point. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and happy to provide recommendations. They're also fun to chat with. I've tried most of the menu but my favorite item hands down is their cheese curds. Also of note are the bratwurst, pretzel, tater tots, and wings. There are three televisions around the bar that play local sports or classic films at low or no volume. Nothing is ever crazy loud so it's a great place to catch up and chat with friends. We love to pop in before a play or post-show as it's in the heart of the theatre district. In addition to beer, whiskey, and bar fare, they sell some pretty awesome merch (not embarrassed to say I sport some of their hats around town- their wool hat is my most favorite and warm winter hat). So if you haven't gotten the message from my long winded review … Beer Culture is a 10/10 in my book."
"I’m a grumpy old man. Noisy, active places usually annoy me. But from the chatter of the patrons to the lively playlist, I really like drinking beer here. Great Imperial Stout, “Barrier Half & Half.” Fries crisp and well-seasoned, enough for two people. Lively vibe, dark and cool on a humid summer day. Service super friendly and quick. *second visit, one month later: I got the last dribbles of the only stout on tap, Central Waters “Nitro Puppy.” While disappointed, I was delighted to discover that they have a huge cooler of canned options, which included 6 Porter/Stout options. The French fries were great. Again."
"I'm giving them 5 stars because their name is BEER Culture and they have a great selection of beers! Also on the Sunday evening we visited the place was relatively unbusy and frankly was a bit of respite from the craziness that can be NYC. The smash burgers were reportedly good, but frankly the flat bread was sub-par with a bread that was way too tough. In contrast the smash burger buns reportedly were quite good. Normally I wouldn't give 5 stars with a flat bread like that but you're hopefully coming here for the beer, not the flat bread, and for that they definitely get 5 stars."
"Highly recommend this neighborhood jaunt (does not at all feel like you’re blocks from Times Square). Beer is great, food great, and vibes are immaculate. We greatly enjoyed the bratwurst and chicken sandwich and hope to return again soon. The staff were also class acts."
