"Paved walking trail, but was all ice during our visit. There's a lake nearby, but you need to bushwhack to get there. It's a missed opportunity not to have a path leading to at least a viewing area overlooking the lake. Don't miss the hidden path that cuts through the center of the trees for a nice walk, accessible not far from the parking lot."
"This "trail" left me pretty disappointed to be honest. It felt more like walking along an overgrown gravel access road then an actual trail, & aside from one area where the trees where rather nice looking it just wasnt terribly enjoyable. I was ready to be done with it at the halfway point, & the steep grades where a bit too intense for me at 10% & 8%, but there are no places to really stop along the way so be prepared for that. The gravel was pretty overgrown through a majority of the trail, & it was deteriorating pretty badly as well. Also huge piles of gravel in the parking lot showed they are aware of this, but havnt really gotten around to fixing it I guess. Overall, I clocked in 9k steps on this one, but it was a slog to get through."
"Very nice trail with some steep hills. Not a bunch of shade so be aware on hot days. Sometimes the trail gets over grown and some of the trail gets washed out but it's very nice and needed for the area. The county can do a much better job taking care of it that's for sure. Especially with the revenue from the multiple wells on the CC property. Don't worry snow flakes, the well pad won't hurt you by walking near it."
"Trail head is a fracking pad, it's a double track gravel trail that's been clear cut 20' on each side so good luck finding shade or anything besides ticks. Descents are 8-12% grade with loose gravel, poorly drained & rutted. You can barely see a corner of the lake once, other than that it's not very scenic. The only water crossing is a small bridge over a polluted brook."
"Perfect quick but not too easy hike! 2.8 mile loop with some steep hills at points. The path is gravel so you’re not actually “in the woods” typical hiking but there are nice tall trees all around and views to look at the whole time. Sorta reminded me of Jurassic park at points. I went when it was overcast but parts of it could probably get really hot in the direct afternoon sun since it’s not completely covered. I also got to catch the sunset there it’s an almost perfect view at the ~mid way point. You’ll know when you’re there. I went downhill first, so that I’d end on the higher parts with more light facing the west"
