"This church is home!! The congregation is family. We were looking for a home base church. After moving to the area we went to one other church, then tried Elm Grove United Methodist Church. We were absolutely taken in as one of their own. All of the people were so warm and welcoming. We got that “you are and never will be a stranger” feeling. No “you are an outsider, we don’t like you feeling”. Such a family atmosphere. When you walk into this church you received the presence of the Holy Spirit and then you receive the warm embrace (or hand shake) from everyone you encounter. We do participate in Bible study where there is freedom to be a philosopher (at any level) and all concepts and ideas are accepted and considered. You can not go wrong with the church. The pastor fervently reminds you that you are loved and God is good, ALL THE TIME”. The choir is inspiring and moving. Give this church a try, you can’t go wrong."
"Went on an off Sunday with a lay speaker (who was surprisingly decent) for the 830a service. Currently looking for a home church after moving to the area. Growing up UM, the service felt like home. However, the congregation (people) was colder than the ice outside. Between the lack of warmth and lack of Bible study availability. EGUMC won’t be the place I call home. 5 stars to the lay speaker. 0 stars to the congregation. Generous compromise of 3 stars."
"The Congregation and Staff treat everyone who walks through the doors like family. There are also many opportunities to be involved including a Boy and Girl Scout program, choirs and music groups, Sunday School classes and Bible studies, a men's and women's group, and a Mission group. A visitation group reaches out to members who aren't able to attend. People of all ages are welcome."
"Very caring community. All the congregation is like extra Grandparents for my 10 year old. They celebrate his achievements and encourage him."
