Schenk Lake Activities

Schenk Lake is a hub of activity, offering numerous recreational options from Memorial Day through Labor Day. With an Activity Wristband, guests can enjoy pedal boats, aqua cycles, and kayaks. Single kayaks are available for $10.95 for a 20-minute ride, and double kayaks for $15.25 for the same duration. While private boating is not available, these rentals provide ample opportunity to explore the tranquil waters of the lake.

Fishing and Boating

Fishing enthusiasts will find Schenk Lake a perfect spot, with no fishing license required. Bait can be purchased at the Schenk Lake Boathouse, and trout and catfish are available for purchase based on size. The lake is regularly stocked with fish, with trout being added on Thursday, May 9, 2024, and catfish in June (date TBD).

Families with children will appreciate the playground located just across from Schenk Lake. The playground boasts a variety of kid-friendly equipment, all set on a safety surface with two layers of cushioning to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for the little ones.

Getting Here

For those driving to Putt-Putt Golf at Schenk Lake, take exit 5 (WV-88/Elm Grove/Triadelphia) and turn left at the end of the exit ramp. At the traffic light, turn right onto U.S. 40/WV-88 and travel approximately 1 mile to the Wheeling Park entrance on the right. Alternatively, from exit 4 (WV-88/Elm Grove), turn left at the end of the exit ramp onto U.S. Route 40 and travel approximately 0.7 miles to the Wheeling Park entrance on the right.
