Raceway 7

"Haven't been here in 40 years!! Really enjoyed this past Friday night. I grew up at this track. My dad was the flag man in the 70's and early 80's. Glad I went."

"So this was the first time I went to Raceway 7. The track is big for a dirt track. It's 7/16th, so it's almost a half mile. Most dirt tracks are on the smaller side. It produced fast racing. The stands were fine. Sturdy boards. There were some metal grandstands also. They were not very high. They also had a handicap ramp and platform. Along with a big sandbox for kids to play. The bathrooms were clean, and your standard stalls and one long urinal. They were well stocked also. The bathrooms are a bit of a walk if you are near turn 1. The food was good and reasonably priced. Per all my other reviews, I tried the cheeseburger, and it was pretty good. I have had better at only a couple of other tracks, but their cheeseburger was top 5. I also had the sausage, which was also pretty tasty. They have a couple of different stands for food. One that has fries. Cheese fries are recommended. Beer is sold at its own stand. The lines did get long, but the wait wasn't terrible. The only complaint I had was that some of the items didn't have prices posted at the stand. The onion chippers at the fry shack and the pizza, burgers, cheeseburger, hotdogs, and sausage didn't have any prices posted. They also have a merchandise stand with some neat items. Hats, shirts, hoodies, and more. The racing was decent in the heats. The features were a different story. Lots and lots of cautions. Only the compacts could get through a feature with only one caution. Most of the crashes were cleaned up quickly. They did go to single file restarts to try and stop the cautions. It did help. The lineup was 3 different modified divisions, late models, and compacts. So, if you really like modifieds, this would be a track for you. I will give them a lot of credit for how fast the next race was out on track and ready to go. They also had fireworks for the 4th of July. The track was good. They worked it a bit during the night also. Raceway 7 is a good track, but for me, the 2 hour drive is something that I feel like is too far for a regular night of racing. So, I will definitely come back for a larger event. If you live closer to the track, definitely check it out, or if modified racing is your favorite class."
