"Brought my sister in law for a radiation consultation. Staff was rude. Although the waiting room was empty, her brother, an orthopedic surgeon was told she could only have one person in the waiting room. He came all the way up from Annapolis to bring her and the manager refused to make any exception to their policy. I would never seek treatment at Mercy after being treated so rudely."
"My mom had a colonoscopy procedure done here recently. Not only were the employees who helped us find the way extremely kind but also the entire staff in the Endoscopy department. They made her feel at ease and comfortable. (Shout out especially to Ms. Rocky for putting a smile on my mom's face.) The entire hospital is also extremely clean too, which is an added bonus."
"Overall, my recent Mercy hospital surgery was a great experience. BUT!... Stay away from Bernard Chang in plastics. He is NOT compassionate despite his award. He was terrible and I decided not to use him as my surgeon after his no empathy consultation, due to his one and done mentality to my very complex history of damage. He didn't care and would not compromise. And his surgery coordinator stared me down in a bizarre confrontational manner when I asked if insurance covered all costs. She thought the best was to handle that was a nasty stare down. It was so weird. Those compassionate awards mean nothing and are under, I feel, an unethical system. But my care recently in foot and ankle was overall outstanding. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is due to Mercy Registration's unethical behavior. We checked into registration. The woman with grey hair who has an office facing the patient waiting room, closest to the windows, talked to the man, my boyfriend, not me the patient who is female. I know I'm just a woman in your eyes, but look at me and lie to me. She said there was an "emergency" and that is was going to be "quiet a while". The "emergency" that she blatantly lied to our faces about was an ice cream party that everyone had run off to attend. So no one was doing their job at the moment. I'm ok with an ice cream party. We followed in the rolling trays of lasagna and many food goodies into Registration. But don't lie and call it an "emergency". Mercy, you need to deal with this woman's lying which comes off as gross disrespect and outdated concepts of whom to address. I was joking with my boyfriend, because it made me mad, a 2 scoops and sprinkles "emergency", since the "Hey, there's ice cream!", (a different staffer shouted) party was so obvious."
