"This Er does not care about patients. I have come in multiple times feeling weak and tingly all over. I sat in the waiting room for 8 hours. I was then moved to a different room and waited another 2 hours when the doctor came in she asked me why I was there and I told her and she said again why are you here this is a ER I asked for tests to be done she said no, they are a small ER I asked for tests for my ailments and she was slouching yawning and practically talking to me like I shouldn’t be there. Didn’t ease my concerns, they didn’t even test me. They gave me unrelated tests and sent me off with some medicine prescription for stuff that is unrelated to my issue and I am still sick. They were gossiping in the halls and giggling in reception. I do not recommend unless you have a ailment they can clearly see otherwise they will not test or do anything for you."

"The nurse staff here is excellent. However, we have had two very bad experiences with the doctor at night. The first was with our 5 year old who had a gash above his eye. Dr. Allesandro did not even remove the strips we put on just to help with bleeding on way to e.r. After waiting over 3 hours in a near empty waiting room, he simply leaned over and said he would be fine. I questioned if he was going to look at it, clean it. He said, it's fine. The gash was right above his eye and at that time our son had fallen asleep. We were sent home and received a large bill later. This time, we were told that chest pains and problems (in which we already had been treated and told to go to the e.r.) were simply heartburn caused by medication. He ignored the things I said to describe when I first got there and the fact I told and later questioned that I had gone TO the doctor the precious week BECAUSE of the problem. In other words, the problem existed before medication...besides knowing what heartburn feels like. To top it off, while we sat like what just happened when he walked out, the burse quickly came in with discharge papers. I do have the nurse information, but we were told by the nurse, "If you need to come to Gretna e.r., don't come at night because he is the doctor and I understand how you feel because I had to come as patient before too." Comforting ? Hardly. What IS a doctor? The nurse staff at night seems to know...they do not have an actual doctor at night. The advice we were given? Go somewhere else."

"Best Emergency room staff and care in the area! After 2 ER trips to Danville, and a Doctors office visit within two weeks, I was advised to go to Gretna for care by a medical professional if I needed to go again. That advice was %100 correct. Hands down no comparison. Thank you Dr Wigboldy, and the nursing staff for your professionalism and kindness. You will always be my first stop going forward."

"I went to the ER at the behest of my doctor. I had scans done for a 9.5cm solid mass that had been found on an ultrasound 6 weeks before. I was experiencing pain so my doctor told me to go. The staff were all very kind, they did a CT scan and found no mass so it was great news. But aside, I will definitely go back if I ever have another emergency. From Triage, to my nurse, to the doctor, I couldn't ask for better care. As a side note my husband and I joked we were in "General Hospital". We have never seen a better looking hospital staff in our lives."

"I lived within 30 minutes of Lynchburg and their hospital for almost 30 years. In July 2023 I moved further away from Lynchburg and realized that Gretna Hospital was actually now closer to my home. I mostly had horrible experiences in Lynchburg and was always hesitant to go there for any reason. I have been here to Gretna now on multiple occasions and I can honestly say that I have never had such great experiences at an ER before. Doesn’t matter where you live, if Gretna is a reasonable distance, I wouldn’t hesitate to go there. The nurses are great with kids. The doctors are not rushed and very professional and knowledgeable and caring. Do yourself a favor and get the treatment you deserve in an emergency medical situation. The people who work here are simply fantastic all around. Your professionalism and sincere care is greatly appreciated. Thanks for being awesome at what you do!"
