About the Casbohm Maple & Honey
Casbohm Maple & Honey: A Legacy of Sweet Traditions
Nestled in the heart of Albion, Pennsylvania, at 9750 Sherman Rd, Casbohm Maple & Honey is more than just a bakery and food store—it's a testament to generations of dedication to the art of maple syrup production. Our family-owned business has been perfecting the craft of sugaring for several generations, with roots tracing back to circa 1920.
The "sugaring" season may be fleeting, but it offers us the chance to relish this all-natural treat throughout the year. Our journey began with my father, Earl Casbohm, who transformed a modest building into a rudimentary sugar house. Using cinder blocks to create an arch and an old 3 x 5 feet flat pan, he stoked the fire with slab wood, adding sap to the evaporator one bucket at a time. The aroma of the steam was unforgettable, marking the beginning of my involvement in 1965. We later upgraded to an antique Warren evaporator, a 3 x 10 feet oil-fired rig, producing mostly Medium, Dark, or "B" Grade syrup.
In 2001, after years of making syrup with family and friends, we built our own sugar house. Today, my wife Cheryl, our children (Eric, Stacy, Kelly, and Adam), and our grandchildren (Nic, Mike, Marly, and Addison) all pitch in during the syrup season. Our family history is rich with memories and innovations, from my Great Grandfather Gideon Draper Stump's early experiments with steam tubes to my Uncle Jack’s handcrafted clay arch and fire doors in the late 1930s.
At Casbohm Maple & Honey, we cherish our heritage. The photo displayed here features my Great Grandfather Gideon Draper Stump (center) and Great Uncles Bailey and Garret Stump, gathering and unloading sap with their horse team. This image, taken by my grandmother, captures the essence of our legacy. She married my grandfather, Harry Casbohm, and together with my father Earl and his brothers, they continued the family tradition of syrup making.
Our sugar house is adorned with relics from the past, including original fire bricks from Uncle Jack's arch, discovered when the field was turned over to new owners in 2004. These pieces of history now reside in our modern sugar house, where we continue to produce pure, natural maple syrup with the same passion and care as our ancestors.
We invite you to visit us and experience the rich flavors and traditions of Casbohm Maple & Honey. As a family business, we are often away from the phone and sugar house, so please call us between 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Monday – Saturday, to ensure someone is here to greet you. Come and savor the sweet legacy of our family's syrup-making heritage.

Reviews of Casbohm Maple & Honey
"Well, doing the Maple tour weekend, we stopped at this farm! I really enjoyed their tour, and I love the smell of the maple boiling! They were friendly and informative, and the samples were delicious!"
"Casbohm Maple Syrup is the best! Through the Maple Taste & Tour over the years we have tried many different producers in our area and absolutely love the Casbohm Maple Syrup."
"My favorite weekend breakfast is homemade French toast topped with butter, peanut butter and maple syrup. Today I tried it with Casbohm’s maple syrup for the first time. Their syrup is the best I’ve ever had. It’s smooth, light and yet extremely flavorful. It’s definitely a winner. Can’t wait to try it with other dishes."
"My family has visited this maple producer during the maple fest weekend in 2016 and 2017. Chris, the owner, is always happy to answer questions about maple production. Several maple products are available for purchase including syrup of course. They also produce their own honey."
