"Doctors and nurses were fine - the only way I can describe the office staff is insane. I had a yearly physical and needed a document signed by a DO, for employment and travel abroad. The office in Wexford was understanding and made efforts to sign me up for an appointment with a DO, instructed me to send the forms in the UPMC message app, and they offered to print it on letterhead at the office with a space for a legible print of the doctor's name and office. If I had known it would be so difficult for the office staff, I never would have gone. Right away, the receptionist said I didn’t need it when I checked in. I tried to explain what it is and why I need it, but she got up, rolled her eyes, and printed it without letterhead after saying she couldn’t find the form. From there on, the staff devolved into pretty shocking behavior - they didn't ask questions and wait for answers, only told me what I needed. At one point, a man used a raised voice to bulldoze over any directions or answers to questions, shouting "what's a consulate?!", the woman saying "we're not a notary!" then the man grabbed a stamp with office details from a drawer, came to the window like he would stamp all over the paper. It was definitely intimidating, and intentionally aggressive. He was shouting, "if she wants a stamp, get her a stamp!" This is after they said they didn't have one in the office? The woman started shouting "let her do it, let her do it!" Why would anyone feel safe in that environment? They made efforts to diminish my request, refuse to actively listen, refused to look at the document themselves, all while shouting amongst themselves and at me. I spent more time explaining two blank spaces on a form than I did with the doctor discussing three medical events and getting x-rays. It was like they had never been so put out of their way. I could hear their conversations about it from inside the patient room. They have no place in healthcare and I will never go back to a place where an office accepts shouting matches and bulldozing over patients as normal. I don’t care if they have the best internist in the city - it’s not worth it. Those two receptionists nuked my ten year history with Northern Medical. Best part? the form was still not complete by the time I left."

"Got hung up on when I called, no accident! And in person, most nurses had yucky attitudes at the beginning of the day except one black woman RN who kept a smile and was so genuine. I mean they were even crass with elderly folks who need a tad patience. Don't nurses know that? That woman made me feel a million times better about being in a doctors office while containing my nerves. The young doctor was nice and made managing hundreds healthcare seem easy. This was a few months ago now but I remember it well and need to schedule another appointment but I have no place to trust."
