Reviews
"Good doctor. Dr Smith had helped my husband with his gout and some other issues. Pleasant and friendly. Updated April 2021. I have dropped my original 5 star review to 1 stars. While Dr Smith is nice and a friendly doctor, it does not offset or excuse his unprofessional, rude front end staff. I am not sure if there is a familial relationship between the receptionist and the doctor that would lead him to make the bad decision to keep her employed there - but here we are. Years of rude interactions. Today was the tipping point. I called today to schedule an appointment for my husband as he has been experiencing stomach related issues and wanted to seek care. She asked if he was even a patient anymore since the doctor had not seen him since 2018. This is because the only real medical condition my husband suffers from is gout. His medicine lasts him a while. He called last year for an appointment and they told him he wouldn't make one because of the pandemic (fair) but they would renew the rx. Aside from that other times we have tried to make appointments no one answers the phone during work hours and they do not take messages. I relayed this to the receptionist who clearly just told me no, I was wrong because she worked there and "they don't do that" despite literally having a bottle next to me more recent than her last dated record of a visit for my husband. I told her I did not appreciate her snobby response as I am just explaining why it has been so long - most likely due to covid and she cut me off again and tells me I was the one being snobby. I said ok, fine (At this point I was irritated at the back and forth so I probably was getting an attitude), but I am not asking for a RX refill, I need an appointment. She opted to just hang up on me. It took me 2.5 hours to get someone to answer as I had been calling all morning - since they opened. This is a repeated problem. My husband has wanted to go in more than he has but ultimately it is very difficult to get through to them. He stopped trying to get help with a sleep disorder because it was impossible to actually get someone on the phone. Their voicemail says not to leave a voicemail, however they rarely actually answer the phone. So to spend 2.5 hours today (after previously failed attempts over years) trying to get through to get an appointment and have this employee blatantly treat me so rudely and still not listen to what my husband needed is just unacceptable. I called my husband afterwards and he explained he actually would go more often if it weren't for this person specifically. We have decided to find a closer doctor without the insufferable staff. Dr Smith - if you are reading this please be aware this review does not reflect your interaction with my husband. However, not disciplining this employee and allowing this to be a recurring theme in your reviews will eventually hurt your practice. I know he is just one patient and plenty probably still go to you however this person is, to put it bluntly, toxic. I know getting rid of problem employees is hard - but there are a bunch of pleasant people out there who actually enjoy helping people. I hope you make better decisions regarding your staff. The time it will take to train a new person will make a world of difference from what you have now. I have left a message withdrawing my husband as a patient after we mutually came to that decision after my interaction with your employee. I expect his records to be mailed to our home ASAP."
"He has been my doctor for over 40 years. Has aways been able to cure what was wrong , or refers to a doctor that is just as good."
"If I can give them 0 stars I would! The front desk receptionist was very UNPROFESSIONAL and rude!"
