"I accepted bid for 2 roofs. Bill told me he couldn’t do work for “at least 4 months” which was fine. I gave him 50% down a few days later at which point he asked if he could store materials for roofs on my property. I consented with a voicemail and never heard back from him. He did not store materials on my property. A month later he called on a Friday and said he would install 1 of the roofs the following Monday. This was 5 weeks after he had told me it would be at least 4 months. This was great but I had to move money from outside account which took a couple days. He wanted me to write a check for the balance before the job was completed and I told him I would send him a check and he may need to wait a couple days. He wasn’t happy with this arrangement and still had his crew ask for a check. I found this all unprofessional but paid without complaint and would have been ok with everything stated. However when my gutter on a story corner of my house was clogged I was not very happy. We had had a couple rains and it was not running at all. I called and left a detailed voicemail. When he didn’t reply I called again and he answered and said he had been out of town. I told him about the gutter and he said he had no idea when anyone could come out and that his crew didn’t get anything in the gutter. This was after I had picked up screws and scrap metal from around my house for a couple weeks. After a week I got the gutter clear of debris from his crew, sent him a picture of it and told him I noticed that his crew had damaged the siding on my chimney and it would need caulked. I never heard back from him and now have to take care of that myself."
