"Went to Home Depot on Cleveland Ave in Columbus to get a workbench for a bd that happened to be that day ! oops. Randy was very engaging, funny and kind. Helped me get the floor model so all I had to do was stick a bow on and instant gift. He also asked the cashier Zoe if she could give me a discount bc there were scratches and dent on it. Zoe was kind and funny like Randy. She gave me a discount and I walked out of that Home Depot knowing that I would return bc of the helpful down to earth staff I dealt with. Oh yeah. Randy and a co worker loaded it for me Keep up the personal touch !!!!"
"This was by far the most horrendous experience I've ever had! Nothing but problems and little care/resolutions... I told my appliance sales person Donja multiple times that I needed propane for my range.. insisted that a conversion kit existed in store to find nothing... I called the useless help line and had someone help me... Not to my surprise this person orders me the wrong part to convert my oven... I've now had my oven for 3 weeks and cannot cook on it! I've had to eat out and microwave everything! This is seriously pathetic and another reason why people need proper training. Lastly I was told after opening my damaged fridge that I was just stuck with it???? I'm still trying to find a way to convert my stove with no luck. This place is a JOKE!"
"I decided I was going to clean my deck and home, so I rented a power washer from Home Depot on Cleveland Avenue. When I went to pick it up, I ask where the deck cleaner was as I needed some to go with the power washer. The man behind the counter said, "If you would have went in the main doors you would have seen it, there is an entire wall of cleaners." So I went on my way, however that wall was not for Pressure Washers and I had to look further. Once I got checked out I went back to the rental area. The guy who had helped me before was helping someone else by starting a weed eater right in the store, I thought that odd. I stood patiently as other HD employees were helping other customers. When I finally got service, the guy who was completing my transaction was so rude. He ask me what I was taking it hope in and when I told him my car he rolled his eyes. We continued on, he acted so offended that he would have to help me put it in my car and kept trying to say, "this isn't going to work." But it did. Once home, I was setting the device up and noticed they had not provided me with the parts necessary to use the bottle of cleaner (which was a big reason I chose the bigger power washer, I knew I had a tough job. I needed a good cleaner and a big power washer.) so I called the store. The person who answered the phone said, "Uh yeah, we don't have the part for that machine so what your gonna have to do is, take a spray bottle and spray it down with your cleanser first and then do the power washing." These men did not like working with me, a woman. I have never been treated so poorly in Home Depot. The power washer that I used was built to be able to use the cleanser by attaching a specific hose from the bottle that works with the water to remove stains easier and faster. I had rented it for 4 hours and that should have been plenty of time, but because I did not have the ability to use the cleanser, it took much longer as a result I did not get to finish my task. I was disrespected because I was a woman renting power tool. I was belittled when I was told that I should have gone in another door, and it seemed very condescending that I be told to take a squirt bottle and spray the surface first. There is no way I could have sprayed my home in the high to reach places. I hurried and got as much as I could done but did not get to complete my project and today, I am very disappointed. I also want to add that I tried calling the store to 1 - speak to a store manage. When I ask the person who answered the phone said, "Oh well, they are probably just busy and overwhelmed." I could not believe that someone would say that as in customer service that is not the right thing to say. I never got to speak to a manager. I tried calling back to speak to a manager in the rental area and was put on eternity hold, so I gave up trying. When I returned the unit, the guy gave me 20% off, which kept me quiet as I was dead tired. But 20% isn't what it is about. I had a goal. I was so excited to accomplish this goal. I researched the HD website to get the exact machine power I needed along with the ability to use the detergent and I did not get that machine and as a result things were missed, and I am very dissatisfied. If you are a woman I recommend shopping somewhere that will respect you and treat you like a paying customer."
"The Home Depot on Cleveland Ave. is the worst Home Depot ever! I can never get help, even when called or they're always out of stock of whatever it is I'm looking for. I went to purchase a particular ceiling fan and there wasn't any more on the shelf. A stalker told me that they had more above in the storage bins but it would be later in the day till they could bring them down. REALLY??? They were right there above us in plain sight. Today, I went for two 7 foot Shepherd's hook planters. There was only one at ground level but there were more in the storage shelf just above my reach. The garden center cashier said she would call for a stocker to assist me but after more than 10 minutes of waiting, they never showed up (as usual) so I left. Needless to say, they've lost a lot of sales from me because I've learned that Menard's knows how to run a business."
"You know when you go in Home Depot you're not going to get great help in the aisles. However, at this one you get great help during checkout when you're checking out. The service is great. They will greet you. They will smile. They will do all they can to help you check out which feels good which feels great because in the aisles you will struggle to find someone to help you in most Home. Depots usually you have to search for someone to help you at any Home Depot you go to in the aisles. You have to just keep looking and going around. I found if I go by the break room I can always find somebody to help me"
