Heritage Park 101 4th Street, McDonald, PA 15057
About the Business
Heritage Park is a beloved community gathering space located in the heart of McDonald, PA, a borough nestled in both Allegheny and Washington counties, just 18 miles southwest of Pittsburgh. With a rich historical backdrop, McDonald has transitioned from its industrial roots, once home to factories producing bottles, oil-well drilling tools, and flour-mill products, to a vibrant community that values its green spaces like Heritage Park.
This picturesque park is a hub of activity and relaxation, offering residents and visitors a serene environment to enjoy the outdoors. Heritage Park is not just a place for casual strolls and picnics; it also hosts a variety of community events and activities. The McDonald Volunteer Fire Department frequently organizes events here, including parades and spectacular fireworks displays, with upcoming events scheduled for July 27th and August 2nd.
Sports enthusiasts can take advantage of the Harry Collins Courts at Heritage Park, which are a focal point for the McDonald Summer Tennis Program, running from June 11th to August 8th. Registration for this popular program is available at several local establishments, including the McDonald Borough Office, McDonald Chinese Restaurant, and McDonald Pharmacy.
Heritage Park is also an integral part of the community's environmental efforts, promoting MS4 compliance to prevent stormwater pollution. Educational flyers on pet waste, car washing, and fall foliage disposal are readily available to help residents contribute to a cleaner environment.
For those relying on public transportation, the Washington County Transportation Authority (Freedom Transit) provides convenient bus service connecting McDonald with Washington, with stops at key locations including Heritage Library on 4th Street.
Whether you're looking to participate in community events, engage in recreational activities, or simply enjoy a peaceful day outdoors, Heritage Park offers something for everyone. Ample parking is available, and on weekends, parking at all meters in the borough is free.
For more information on upcoming events and programs at Heritage Park, or to learn about the McDonald Borough Council's monthly meetings and other community initiatives, please visit the official McDonald Borough website or contact the borough office directly.

"It's a small park with not a lot going on. There are swings and a little play area. They have tennis and basket ball courts. They have fields and a large pavilion. The trail runs along side it. They have different events through out the summer. They normally have fireworks and a fair for the Fourth of July with lots of local drunks to watch."
"Check out the cub scout steak fry and car cruise every May!"
