"I came to Dr Wano in October of 2023 with severe back pain across my upper shoulders with numbness and pain radiating down my arm. The pain was so severe that I could barely turn my head. I had already gone through pain medications and steroids with no relief. Dr Wano and his team immediately tried everything they could to give some relief to the symptoms and pain, this helped but we realized it may be a larger issue. I worked with Dr Wano to get imaging done and we discovered a large herniation in my cervical spine. This herniation was so severe that it was compressing my spinal cord and causing the pain and numbness to my extremities. I had a decision to make at this point - surgical intervention or decompression therapy with Dr Wano. I wanted to exhaust all possible solutions before a surgical intervention and started the decompression therapy. During my first few treatments I already had relief from the pain and numbness, less than a month after coming to Dr Wano I was already feeling much better. My pain and numbness subsided, my neck movement came back and I was well on my way to feeling like I did before this all started. I am finishing up my therapy with Dr Wano now and I can say that it was the best decision I made. No surgery and I am back to 100% and have restarted my normal activities.
