"Several years ago my mom was a patient of this so called physician. She was living alone and had started into dementia. I took her to see him Several times explaining to him how I did not feel she was safe to live on her own anymore. Each time he ignored my concerns, assessed her mental compacity and then dismissed the alarming results! I had said to him that my mom needed 24hr care that I was unable to provide, he stated if you put her in assisted living, you will kill her! As a daughter who loved her 90 yr old mother dearly, those words caused a lot of guilt. They were not what I needed to hear, I needed his support. Shortly after that office visit, she had an accident at her home which caused her to be hospitalsized. She was given the safety awareness test while hospitalized to see where her mental capabilities lie. It came back that she had no safety awareness and couldn't be left alone! 24/7 care was strongly suggested.I did report this physician to the patient advocate, I'm surprised he us still practicing."
"My husband saw this doctor and he nearly killed him with his cocktail of drugs he prescribed. It was for diabetes medication and I told him that would send his sugar levels too low. He said all those websites were wrong and he was right. The websites I looked at were from the Mayo Clinic and the Harvard school of medicine. Entire articles on avoiding specific medications related to low blood sugar. I tried to talk with him about it and he told me to leave! He should not be allowed to practice."
"I had the weirdest experience with AHN healthcare. I've been sick for prolonged time. Walked in the office with a bad infection of the finger that needed to be treated with an antibiotic immediately. It was on June 3, 2022. I was scheduled to see a PA ( the only person, who I managed to see ONCE in over a year of being with this network).I got an appointment...for June 17 ! Which is almost a week from now and nearly 2 (!) weeks from asking for help. (Infection was going on for 10 days before I walked (!) in the office. Then I started running fever. Muscle aches, etc. I couldn't work anymore. I drove through and check myself for Covid at Walgreens. Negative. Fever doesn't go away and I am feeling worse, not better. I called today to the office, hoping to talk to a nurse or a doctor on call, I work in the Lab and was hoping to get orders over the fax , so I would go and do some basic blood work, I want at least START somewhere...I had to call 3 times to the answering service. It took over an hour before I recieved a call back from Dr. Overare. He told me:"Go somewhere, see someone. You can go to ER or Urgent care or elsewhere". I told him I live 45 min drive from Erie. Places around my house are not in the AHN network. Besides I can't pay 200$ ER co-pay...All I was asking for-fax orders for CBC and CMP... He told me, that I am "giving him orders" and he REFUSED TO SPELL HIS NAME ! HE SIMPLY HANG UP ON ME !!! I had to call back to answering service to find out who was this man who called me back and didn't even try to help in any way...Before I became part of AHN network I had never have anything even close to this lousy patient care. I'd give them no stars at all. I am an employee of AHN.I have no idea how they treat regular patients."
"My family has been with this practice since they opened. We have never had a more pleasant doctor! He takes care of you. And is concern about the patient. Not the ($). I have been in a office where the doctor takes a phone call while you wait on him. But not Doctor Overare, he takes care of you first. The hiring and firing talk to Saint Vincent. And while you are at it may be u can get them to stop moving him."
"My daughter came in with what she thought was a UTI on Friday. Sample was taken and she was told she would be called with the results on Monday. She was never called. I called on Wednesday to find out what was going on. Was told because their computers were down on Friday the doctor was behind but the nurse would call her soon. Nurse calls my daughter on Thursday and tells her that the sample was never even sent for processing. They discarded her sample!!! How is this good medical practice? What if something critical would have been wrong with her? We will definitely be looking for a new family doctor. This form made me give one star or I couldn't post. I wouldn't even give one star when the office is throwing out samples without having them processed. Sounds like gross negligence to me."
