"Many years ago I had Graves Disease. I had my thyroid killed by radioactive pill.I had complained about the heat and while my thyroid was dying she put me on antithryoid medication. My thyroid bottomed out so low that in gained 40 lbs in 3 months. I was filled with fluid. Also, my thryoid was so low, that I had spasms thru out my body. I went to my primary at the time time in tears, I was so blown up and spasmatic and I couldn't bearly walk. He had gone to medical school with her and although he understood he could not be 100% sympathetic, since he knew her. Someone gave me the name of Dr Karen Giardino and I went there for a 2nd opinion. During the whole.process, I got my medical reports to see all my blood tests and my thryoid #'s. I called the thyroid association to have them decifer the numbers for me. In researching my #'s my numbers were coming down slowly with the radioactive pill I took. There was no need to put me on an antithyroid pill. I don't like humidity and that was her reason, as per her, is why she put me on the pill, since high thyroid causes you to be hot. She never looked to see my thyroid was slowly dyingm So, I went to her last visit to tell her what she did to me. She was rude when I spoke she said rudely to me "I am talking and do not interrupt me." She saw my referral in my file to go to Dr Karen Giardino and said that I don't agree, but you can go to whomever you want. She was also very condescending. I sat there filled with fluid with spasms and she would not take any responsibility. Fast forward, I go to Dr Giardino, and she asks me who did this? I told her. All I wanted to hear was that I would have not done that. She was floored why I was put on anti thryoid meds since my thyroid was dying. She said as my thyroid was dying, she would have put me on synthroid, so as it was dying the hormone would slowly increase, and what happened would never have happened. This long explanation shows the most horrible time I had with this doctor. If you want the best, Dr Karen Giardino is awesome!"

"Was referred to her by another dr. First and only visit was absolutely horrible. She was extremely rude, nasty, and yelling at me when I questioned things. Would cut me off when I tried to talk. After so many minutes she said I was taking up to much of her time and would need to schedule another apt. I found a new dr."

"I think this Doctor is very dry compared to many other specialists I have seen. You cant knock someones personality for not matching with your own, but I do prefer a better connection with my Doctor. I felt as though she was interviewing me to see what I was there for instead of following my referral reason. I had reached out to her staff prior to my appointment to ensure proper records were there from previous doctors/facilities i had testing with, and her chart was empty. I do not feel the first appointment was beneficial or enlightening. Disappointing to have to do a 90 day follow up plan for a blood work result review- when I have a high deductible insurance plan."
