"Waited in the checkout line for 2 hours before I was able to leave and book a follow up. I missed an extra 3 hours of work because this facility is under staffed and a little slow. The DO I saw was a great guy. I'm just not trying to make my doctor visits last all day just because these secretaries can't handle the workload."
"I have no complaints about doctors and the majority of staff. While overworked, my experience with Penn State Health Doctors has been very positive. Penn State Health itself, however, is a cesspool. They have turned small family oriented practices into beurocratic soul sucking chop shops. Instead of being able to connect with the office directly, whenever you call in you get one of those dreaded central call centers. These people don't know me and the wait times are insane. During a recent system upgrade, I had an emergency that didn't quite warrant the emergency room, but still was something acute that I needed to see my doctor for. I called in and I waited nearly 45 minutes just to talk to someone and then the person who picked up put me on hold for another 22 minutes! All while I was feeling very ill. I was so frustrated I was all but sobbing at work. My favorite recent development? You cna no longer pay for your visit at the offices. I mean, what???? Who thought of this? I know I have a copay due from weeks ago but before I knew about this policy I just figured I'd need to pay it next visit. Nope. They gave me a phone number for the billing department. I tried calling, was on hold for over 25 minutes so I hung up. How many people are going to end up in collections over this? What about the elderly who may struggle with these policies? Disgusting. This absolute trash heap of a medical group also recently decided to close their White Rose facility that has been in operation serving thousands from the local community for years and years. Hence why I ended up in Lancaster. This practice was thriving, had a full staff of great doctors and nurses and office staff. Penn state came in, and slowly things went downhill. Staff turnover was insane. They couldn't hire or keep any new doctor's hired...knowing Penn State this probably means they weren't offering enough compensation...and it lost the feel of a family practice. I went from knowing the office staff and being able to call in and get seen to having to face horrible wait times. The closure was abruptly announced and thousands were told well, it's closing in a few months but guess what! You can come to Lancaster! Which is an hour or more drive for most people. Tell me, for an elderly or sick patient, how is it not deplorable to take them from a ten minute drive to the doctors office to an hour or more? Practice had thousands of patients. Doctors are awesome. So how did it fail? Mismanagement by Penn State Health. Disgusting."
"Checking in took a 1/2 hour while the desk clerk said "this is a new system". They asked me if I had Medicare, I said "No, I have double coverage, mine and my spouses Insurance." The clerk ask another clerk for help and they said my chart was locked out because someone else was in my chart. The helping clerk then said, "put down that he has Medicare to get out of that window". I'm sure now my insurance and billing will be a mess. I'm still waiting to see the Dr. It's been over an hour and 45 min since I arrived. The clerk came out to the waiting area and said "there is at least a 2 hour wait to see the dr." "If you want to go home and come back later, you can". The waiting room has myself and 3 other patience. The phone rings and they answer and put that person on hold. The appearance is that they are not busy, maybe understaffed or just not interested in patient care. Urgent Care will soon overpower these types of walk in clinics."
"Don't let the 1 star fool you, they will not process your review without at least checking one. The practice should be shut down by the state, simple as that. They have no clue or desire how to help patients. Every one of you clowns should have to see the very people at this place for your health needs, everyone of you even your families. I promise you not one of you would send your dogs here. No attention is given to patients. My wife was in a room for over an hour not a single person came to see her or check on her no one at all. Except for the other patient they sent to the very same room. Clear violation of HIPA rules, Save your self go to one of the other 2 urgent care places at least you will get seen."
"I don’t think I’ve ever given one star to an organization. If I could give you zero, I would do it. I’ve been coming to Oyster Point since I was in high school. I’m 51. I cannot believe your license hasn’t been revoked. Abysmal care. Epically bad. Comically bad, if lives were not at stake. You’ve nearly killed my mother in-law twice with incorrect prescriptions, poor decision making and utter incompetence. Your doctors are mostly fantastic, but the rest is a horror show of poorly paid, pathetically trained, and awful systems that make no sense and leave the onus typically on elderly people and the uneducated. Shame on you. Shame on all of you who run that terrible institution!! This place is completely and utterly incapable of redemption. You need to fire everyone, build competent systems and hold yourselves accountable to a higher standard. Demolish what you have and start over. Your doctors (your only asset, the rest of you are terrible and need to go!!!) are so over worked, they cannot in good faith offer “care” to their patients. You have page after page of reviews telling you that you need to change for the better, but you won’t. You think you know better. I’ve had enough. I’m going to start with Congress people and move up the chain until you are shut down. I may not be able to do something, personally, to fix this; but I sure as hell know where to look for someone that CAN shut you down. At least until you start doing your jobs. I am so ashamed of the care we give people, in general, in this country. You are a shining example of what happens at FOR PROFIT University hospitals, that masquerade as NON PROFIT organizations. You are an embarrassment to a once proud organization. We the people deserve better."
