"after my surgery up in Morgandown I went to the wvu ER for dehydration as that's what the Dr on the phone said and we chose wheeling now my family doesn't like wheeling we as the wait is so long even if there not busy but they drew blood gave me fluids and did a CT of my throat to check for swelling as that's another reason I went in and some of my test results came back high from the blood they took the ER doc said there was no medical concern so we got sent home they next morning I wake up screaming in pain and having a 100.6 fever my mom called the doctor in Morgantown and he said I should have been given a antibiotic or they give Morgantown a call and have me sent there for treatment or stay in wheeling so I am now doing better but still have a infection just wanted to leave this review"
"Recently we visited WMP ER and had a wonderful experience. The staff was attentive and courteous. Our young family member went in with c/o Chest pain and through lab work and CT scans the Dr. reviewed the findings and took our family members voiced concerns seriously with deep consideration. Being young he looked healthy and fine on presentation but further assessment was needed to really get to the root of his problem. Dr. Samuel Pilla took that extra step of care and concern to listen to his patient and take all necessary steps for him to have a positive future outcome. We were pleased by all the staffs kindness each and every nurse and the Dr addressed us and him professionally. Thank you Wheeling hospital ER and please keep up the great work and listening and treating each individual case as it needs to be treated. Thank you again Dr. Pilla for the wonderful explanations and referrals for care."
"I visited the ER with my daughter on Christmas Day, and I was so impressed with how incredibly kind every member of the staff was, from our check-in to registration to triage to the NP we saw. It sucks working on a holiday, but everyone there was so thorough and friendly. We were in and out in under two hours!"
"Was rushed from work to the ER with a suspected kidney stone. It did end up being one. As soon as I went in I was taken back. A wonderful nurse named Jane put me in a room and got me set up to receive meds. I saw the doctor (he realized what was happening) quickly and my nurse Alecia took wonderful care of me. I definitely hit the call button at least eight times because I was in so much pain. Alecia was so compassionate and caring every single time. She really made the horrible experience a better one. Later when I felt better and was ready to go home I thanked her and Jane. Hospitals need staff like them, they are the ones who make a world of difference."
"Had my mom there. Sign in was fast as was registration. It had good and bad points being there but two stand out. First. They draw labs before you are seen back in ER to get the ball rolling which is a great idea. However their phlebotomy area is terrible. A TOO SMALL ROOM, not wheelchair accessible( for those who were not ambulatory) and a lousy phlebotomy chair which made the tech job even more difficult. The concept is great. The execution of the concept is horrible. This room needs a MAJOR redesign. I felt sorry for the phlebotomist and told her so. It’s a difficult job and made more difficult by a very poor inadequate space for both patient and tech. Overall all the entire visit which was only to receive an IV for dehydration took almost 7 hours. Waiting area was maybe A third full upon arrival One thing I do have to give a good review to is security. Their presence is everywhere and helped my parents get into car and could not have been a more pleasant guy I understand overall the need for lots of security at this facility. I bet a lot of people get irate. But security gets a good review for sure."
