Reviews of Compass Family & Community Services
"They will cancel and alter your appointments without your knowledge or consent. Impossible to keep a counselor due to them quitting constantly. It’s like this place does not care about anything but money what a shame."
"Worst service they make appointments on holidays then cancel your appointment and not refill your meds and blame you for there mistake saying you have to come in when they say when they say and cause distress over the issue. Incompetent is the only word that says how they treat you and act. Their staff is rude and complain to you while your there for using the services they offer then complain your giving them extra work. I would not recommend this place to anyone."
"for a place that offers victims advocate, you would think they would do better. they canceled every appointment i make, and the moment i forget an appointment was scheduled they fell off the radar. it’s hard enough for some people to reach out for help, and if this was the treatment they got, they aren’t going to want to ever reach out again."
"I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked for COMPASS Family and Community Services almost 3 years. I worked as a Certified Peer Recovery Supporter funded by the Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board. COMPASS stands by their mission and core values 100%. I had the pleasure of working with some of the most AWESOME people and that really warms my heart. If there was any time I needed assistance they were right there immediately and I did the same for them. We were a team of rockstars! With any place of employment there are days that will be more challenging than others and we have to remember that we are meeting the people we serve right where they are in life. They need us to be there for them 110%. We also appreciate them choosing COMPASS for their services. The people I served at COMPASS and my awesome team were my motivation daily when I walked into those doors. I was representing COMPASS and being accountable for the services I provided. I learned something new everyday. I am very passionate about what I do and while working for COMPASS I was able to show that through creativity, education, and skills I possess. You cannot beat that! I had the most awesome supervisors ever! They were very knowledgeable of all policies, procedures, and duties, and passionate about the work they did as well. Whenever I needed anything to help me better serve clients they made sure I had it. They also held me accountable for my actions and position, as they were supposed to. If I had an issue they listened and it was solved. My position was very flexible so I was able to gain knowledge in other areas and that was awesome! I love to learn and I definitely did that at COMPASS. I was able to plan events in the community and residential sites! COMPASS believes in the strength of community! I facilitated peer support groups, worked with case managers, and more! I also want to say thank you again for coming through for me personally when I was backed in a corner with no way out in a short period of time. You all acted fast and it was as if the problem never existed. I am truly grateful from the bottom of my heart. COMPASS does take care of their own. My pay was good as well. You might ask, "Well, why did you leave?" I decided to step out of my comfort zone and begin a new journey. I am taking everything I learned from COMPASS with me and continuing to provide the best services possible. **I want to say that COMPASS is taking great measures to protect their employees during this pandemic.** To all of the supervisors, therapists, operations managers, program managers, TPW staff, front office staff, CEO, and so on and so forth at ALL COMPASS sites (cannot remember every title lol)......ALL OF YOU HAVE TOUCHED MY LIFE IN A POSITIVE WAY AND I WILL MISS YOU DEARLY. We are all entitled to our own opinion, every job is NOT for everyone, and we all have different experiences, so I beg of anyone employed now or in the past, please stop and think before posting negative reviews out of anger. COMPASS really does make a huge difference in the community and that task is not an easy one. Teamwork makes the dream work. It is one thing to have a challenging day and vent when you are upset, but it is another to come online and say mean things against the company. NO COMPANY/ORGANIZATION WOULD WANT THAT TO BE HAPPENING. I would not even want to experience that personally. Would you? Let's practice kindness and professionalism shall we. (no offense intended) #breakthecycle #bethechange Careerseekers, if your heart is in the right place you will be fine. Apply, check on your application, attend the interview if contacted, and if you are offered a position, use your OWN judgment when making the decision to accept or decline the offer. Give it a chance. Research differences in non-profit and for-profit organizations as well. This will help you understand so much. Any career is what you make of it, so make it fulfilling and beautiful. Thank you again COMPASS Family and Community Services, and best wishes for your company."
"Sandy who took my call and scheduled my appointment was a very pleasant person to talk to. She has a very warm and bubbly personality which is very helpful especially when just calling a new place can be stressful. The entire staff is very helpful and friendly and I recommend this company to those in need."
