Volunteers are essential in maintaining the highest standards of animal care, developing enrichment activities for various species, and engaging with the public to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

We offer private tours and encounters seven days a week, but reservations are required. Please call us to check availability and schedule your visit.

"As a stay-at-home dad with three little explorers, finding places that keep them entertained and engaged can be a bit of a challenge, but this place totally hit the mark. First off, the vibe at Family Traditions Zoo is just so laid back and welcoming. From the moment we walked in, we felt like part of the family. The staff were super friendly and helpful, which always makes a big difference, especially when you’re wrangling three energetic kiddos. Now, let’s talk about the animals. Oh boy, did they have a blast! From majestic lions to quirky lemurs, there was something to see around every corner. And the best part? You could tell these animals were well taken care of and loved by the staff. Plus, there were plenty of interactive experiences like feeding the giraffes and petting some of the smaller critters, which the kids absolutely loved. But the real highlight for us was the special events and activities they had going on. We happened to visit during their “Zookeeper for a Day” program, where the kids got to shadow a real zookeeper and learn all about what it takes to care for the animals. It was such a unique and educational experience that we’ll all remember for years to come. Overall, Family Traditions Zoo gets a big thumbs up from this stay-at-home dad and his crew. It’s the perfect mix of fun, education, and good old-fashioned family time. If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a favor and swing by for a wild adventure!"

This is their closing day December 30th 22 and we are going today and we are taking along some other family members who have never been before and I know that they are going to have a blast. "This Mom & Pop place is a hidden gem. The staff was so nice even relaxing around the property to just talk to the visitors. Not once were we rushed to move onto the next animal. The animals are very people friendly too... some even posing for the camera. We are definitely going back."
