"Went here for the first time and the food was decent! I had mushroom oyster pocket and taco salad. The service and atmosphere for me was not good at all. I was spoken to once for my order and secondly to pay for my food. Even with that I had to wait a while and make repeated eye contact with worker to get their attention. Not once was I asked how everything was going and if the food was okay like everyone else was around me. I acknowledged the busy environment and remained patient but everyone else was being catered to besides me. The person who gave me my food didn’t even make eye contact with me and rushed off. Was upsetting and off putting. I try not to make generalizations about restaurants and give the benefit of the doubt but there was no benefit to my experience yesterday. I was the only black person in the restaurant which was fine with me, has nothing to do with the venue. But as time passed by it was made clear that it had nothing to do with the busyness but rather my race. I was very excited to try out this restaurant as I am a new vegan but left with a burdened feeling of rejection. I pray this is a learning lesson for the restaurant and creates a better environment of acceptance. God bless!"
"While visiting local area, I couldn't find any vegan places in the Lancaster area until I found Root! Root is a 100% vegan restaurant in the heart of Lancaster. Upon entering, you are whisked away into the rustic hip place that once seemed to be a brick warehouse or factory which adds to the cool factor! They had a pretty stocked bar, but we sat down for the food! Root is a really neat and hip vegan place in an area that doesn't seem to be very vegan friendly- so this is great! We loved the atmosphere and great food. Love that they change the menu each week so there is variety. Vibe- 10/10 Service- 10/10 - server was friendly & welcoming. Super laid back / chill vibe here. Which made our lunch date relaxing & enjoyable. Food- stellar! We got the buffalo tofu bites. The vegan lobster roll was great! Fresh roll with creamy mushrooms. The fries were hot, crispy & flavored to perfection!"
"Awesome vegan restaurant with some nice beers as well. Great people serving up some tasty tasty food."
"I am not a vegan but I came here because of a friend. The food was very good and I would come back. We got the corn cheddar and jalapeno bites as an appetizer. They were a little stodgy. I did like my sandwich though - I don't remember exactly what they called it but it was basically like an eggplant parmesan in homemade pizza dough pita-type bread. It was pretty tasty."
"Service was great for how busy the one bartender/server was. Almost half the items on the brunch menu were unavailable at 11:15am on a Sunday. Biscuits and gravy weren't edible. Soggy biscuits, soggy french fries, and gravy that tasted just like plain impossible crumbles with no seasoning other than a lot of salt. Eggplant Parmesan was pretty good in comparison, but just average."
