Meadville Medical Center: Emergency Room

"This ER doesn't care about how much pain you're in. They left me in pain for hours and told me they did all they could and discharged me with my blood pressure still dangerously high and with the same pain I came in with. Then they gave me a prescription for the medicine that they knew wasn't working."

"This emergency room likes to ignore patient allergies and accuse them of drug seeking to cover up their incompetence. I even tried to reach out to patient advocacy because my previous experiences had been decent, but Dr. Kramer wrote me a poor excuse for an apology with no indication of how they intend to fix this for other patients in the future. If at all possible, go to a different ER to avoid getting killed by these doctors."

"I had a fabulous PA last night. Very nice very friendly. And my nurse ben was extremely helpful and fabulous."

"I ended up in the ER due to a kidney stone and the medical team there did an excellent job. They made me comfortable and were compassionate. I was sent home after I stabilized only to return early the next morning for a second stone that was passing. Once again the team helped me with pain management and only sent me home until they knew I was going to be okay. I would definitely return here for emergency care."

"I put off going in for an entire day, hoping my pain would subside. Knowing there would likely be a very long wait time, they would be short-staffed (everywhere is right now), and they may not have a bed available... By nighttime I spiked a fever and was still in terrible pain. I couldn't put it off any longer. I went in, expecting the worst. Because of what I've heard. I was amazed at how quickly they got my information, got me in a room, put in an IV, got the samples they needed, took me for CT scans and an ultrasound, checked in with me often, and was able to be discharged (on good terms), all in about 4 hours. Everyone was friendly, informative and caring. The doctor even called the next day to check on me and make sure I'd scheduled a follow up with my family doctor. She also told me to come back in if I needed to. She'd be there. In times like these, I'm very impressed and very grateful for these Frontline Workers. God bless them for all they do!
