"I’m 37 weeks and 5 days... Every appointment I have I’m told something different each week... Now as of yesterday they are told me my due date is actually aug 26th when I’ve been told for almost 9 months that it’s august 20th... It’s frustrating when you don’t know who to trust there and what doctor is not being fake! And when I have the offer to choose an early induction because of my baby being so big already ! He’s measuring at 40 weeks right now and they try to scare me out of being induced... Like hello it’s. It my first pregnancy my first one I was induced to and I’m still here ! It sucks when your home town OB office seems like They’re all liars ! ☹️"
"To begin I was uncomfortable. They didn't give me enough time to undress and then they knocked but came right in not giving me enough time to even answer. I had some concerns about my weight and hormones having dealt with thyroid issues with both my grandmothers my mother and my ex I was familiar with the tests and requested free t3 and free t4 not just TSH the nurse tried to tell me it was the same test... no they are not. That was my first tip-off. When I spoke eith the doctor he was right away very condescending. I had just told him that I was able to lose a significant amount of weight in the past two years. yes I am VERY familliar with what it takes to gain and lose weight. My issue among others was that I had been gaining it back at an incredibly fast rate. I did acknowledge that I hadn't been as active and was eating more but not enough to explain gaing more than double what I lost in two years in 6 months. His condensing response was "you do recognize that your eating more right" yes I do infact I TOLD YOU AS MUCH! I told him I keep track of what I eat and his response was how? What are you keeping track of? I use the app lose it and have been for the last 9ish years I have always struggled with my weight. He scrunched up his face and asked "Do you even know how many calories you should be eating?" Yes I do. At my ideal weight I should be eating somwhere around 2000 Cals a day. Right now to lose 1 lb a week I know I need to consume around 2500. At that point his condescending manner and his attitude made me extremely uncomfortable. I am not uneducated. I refuse to interact with individuals that make me feel as uncomfortable as he did especially for a gynecological exam. Also, don't act so incredulous when some one says theres no risk of pregnancy. "So you're 28 years old and never been with a man!?" Is not an appropriate response. Needless to say I will never be coming here again."
"I went for a mammogram at Bay Diagnostic Center West Campus on 03/22/19. They demanded that I sign a legal sheet stating "At this time authorization for your services has not been approved" and that I would be liable for services. Worker at the desk never checked my eligibility for services with BCBS, stating "she didn't have time and she didn't know me and could not take my word". This could have been avoided with a simple call to BCBS, but she refused! Why would I take her word that the form would only be used if insurance didn't pay. I have seen mistakes made by billing dept that were out of my control and with this form I would have been liable. Trust is a two street. The form she wanted me to sign didn't say what she was saying to me. Yet, I was to take her word for it with no questions after what she had already said?! I find it unethical and unprofessional to demand something from a patient that your staff is unwilling to do themselves. I can not believe that a large corp like this can not/will not call BCBS for information. All other places will do so (considered part of their job)."
"Was 6 weeks pregnant and waited 2 hours for dr.Mikkiya. started to get very shaky and sick. Just, for her to tell me that it was normal and I should eat more. Horrible bed side manor, every concern or question I had at my 9 week appointment was brushed off, she wouldnt even look me in the eye. Switched to Saginaw at 12 weeks."
"We took a four-week birth class and a breast-feeding class here. Our instructor, Becky Morgan, was awesome! We learned a lot in these classes about labor, delivery, and how to take care of our new born. We are thankful McLaren provides services like the classes we took to new parents."
