UK Outpatient Laboratory Services - Turfland is dedicated to providing efficient, accurate, and convenient lab testing services for the Lexington community. Our state-of-the-art laboratory is located on the second floor of Location H, making it easily accessible for all patients.

Important Information for Patients:

- Fasting Requirements: For many lab tests, fasting is required to ensure accurate results. This typically means no food or drink, except water, after midnight before your test. Please confirm specific fasting instructions with your healthcare provider.

- Sweat Chloride Testing: If your provider has ordered a sweat chloride test to check for cystic fibrosis, it will be scheduled through your provider's office. This test is available Monday through Thursday. For more details, please call 859-257-3521.

- Insurance Information: To avoid unnecessary billing, UK HealthCare requires your current insurance details. This information is essential for billing your insurance company correctly.

- Identity Verification: We verify your identity by comparing your name and date of birth with the information on your lab requisition.

- Billing Information: You may receive separate bills for services at UK HealthCare. One bill will cover professional fees (services provided by a pathologist), and another will cover hospital fees (lab tests). Each billing area has its own customer service contact number.

- Test Results: Test results will be sent to the provider who ordered the test. If you need the results sent to another provider, please provide their name, address, phone number, and fax number at the time of collection. Note that blood draw stations cannot release results directly to patients. Results can be accessed through your MyChart account (sign-up at https://ukhealthcare.uky.edu/mychart) or from the office of the ordering provider.
