"They keep switching my case manager and don't communicate very good with patience then want to close people's cases"
"One star is too much credit for the "crisis" center. When our daughter was in crisis (suicidal), they showed up after an hour of her hurting herself. Kizzy and Renee tried to leave as soon as our daughter showed sixty seconds of stability. They said that their "job was done" and she was no longer in crisis. They denied my daughter from critical care that she needed to stay safe. As a result, she put us and her infant sister in danger many times with no support. After discussing this with her therapist they would always say "did you call the crisis center", to which our answer was NO. The "crisis center" is a place where we waited for hours until my daughter finally undressed and attempted to choke herself with the drawstring from the shade, then they said they couldn't do anything and the police were sent to take her to Sparrow, where we spent 23 days and nights with her until giving up on her getting further help. CMH has specific criteria that the child has to meet at that exact moment of when the child is speaking to the therapist. If they are not hurting themselves at that exact time, then no luck getting them help in a safe environment. Each appointment with CMH left us wondering why we wasted our time. Their answer is always "our hands are tied", "there's nothing more we can do" or "did you call the crisis center"."
"Very unprofessional staff member who literally threw my id and Medicaid card out the glass window and a potential Client who saw it has to hand it to me. She was upset after I was telling her my experience I had with staff with downstairs you first come into the building. She says I should just tell the therapist when the therapist is not the front office staff. The therapist I received seemed to have a lot of disabilities that were limiting her to be able to help do a thorough intake of me and finally being checked in she recommended I go right back into the staff member who rudely threw my property out the window which was very unprofessional. The therapist that I was assigned to from the wellness center was inexperienced and said she didn’t even like working for CMH and she was just doing it for the pay. If your staff members are more mentally unstable that the people you’re seeing that come through your doors why are you even working there. I’m sure the front office has to do some curriculum to show they’re mentally abled and prepared to handle tje people that come in their doors but if the people that come through your doors is advocating their needs and you can’t even handle that seems really counterproductive and just sad. Poor experience with CMH I will not return."
"At my time at CMH the mental health professionals who helped me were Justene, Amna, and Dr. Z. They were all caring and diligent but overall have the wrong approach to healing and helping their patients. Let me explain, they push mind altering pharmaceutical drugs which only further damage the psyche, have countless of risks, including permeant long term damage, and can even cause their patients to commit suicide. This is because they are a for profit business that works for the pharmaceutical companies at the expense of their patients well being. What they should be doing is encouraging their patients to approach their mental health in a natural way which includes taking vitamins, having a healthy diet like the carnivore or protein based diets, as well as exercise and going outdoors. They need a holistic approach which actually helps patients in the long term and isn’t just a temporary bandaid. The so called “doctors and mental health professionals” act like anyone who’s slightly different than them or unique should suffer or die because that’s what their methods lead to whether it’s intentional or not. That’s exactly why they prescribe these mind altering drugs that cause suicide. Mental health professionals lock away and imprison other human beings who are just different than they are for simply being themselves which is extremely cruel and inhumane. How about actually attempting to help them without making them suffer and be uncomfortable? People with mental health issues and every person deserves to feel safe, secure, and protected in this world. According to the thought crime doctrine: neither beliefs nor intentions may be subject to criminal punishment. Yet they don’t follow this law! They imprison and lock away people who haven’t committed any crimes yet for simply expressing themselves and using their 1st amendment right of freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Follow the law. Follow the constitution. Stop lying to people who need real help and actually help them in a sincere and meaningful way. Do better. Be better. Tell the truth. Do what is right."
"Definitely can see the systemic issues within the mental health system however, can also see the extreme efforts of many personnel and that I can appreciate. I feel as though this organization is top heavy and somewhat oppressive."
