About the Business
Octapharma Plasma, located at 5398 Northfield Rd, Maple Heights, OH 44137, is a dedicated health facility specializing in plasma donation. This center is part of a vast network of plasma donation centers across the United States, committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and rewarding donation experience for all donors.
Whether you're a first-time donor or a returning donor, Octapharma Plasma aims to address all your questions and guide you through the donation process. They offer competitive compensation for both new and repeat donors, making it a financially beneficial endeavor. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and staffed by highly trained professionals to ensure a seamless donation process.
First-time donors are required to bring a valid photo ID, a Social Security Card, and proof of current address. Active military personnel should provide both their mailing and physical addresses. The initial donation visit typically takes 1-2 hours due to a comprehensive donor suitability screening, which includes an educational video, a health screening, and a detailed medical questionnaire. Subsequent visits are usually quicker, and donors are encouraged to call ahead to inquire about the best times to donate.
During your visit, you can enjoy free WiFi and HD televisions, and you're welcome to bring personal entertainment like books or music players. However, for privacy reasons, phone calls and photographs are not allowed in the center.
Octapharma Plasma follows all U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines, allowing donors to give plasma twice within a seven-day period, with at least 48 hours between donations. The body typically replaces the donated plasma within 24 to 48 hours, so staying hydrated is crucial.
The center places a strong emphasis on the importance of returning for a second donation, as the first donation is tested to ensure safety before it can be used in life-saving medicines. Donors are compensated for their first donation and encouraged to return 2 to 14 days later for a follow-up.
Octapharma Plasma accommodates Spanish-speaking donors and provides a mobile app to streamline the donation process. By using the OctaPass online system, donors can make their visits more efficient. Additionally, donors can earn points for tiered rewards, including Express Passes and e-gift cards.

"Kind, caring and clean! This place changed my mind on donating! We live in Akron, we risked the 30 minute drive for a different experience. They definitely have smaller needles, quicker turn over and MUCH better attitudes! The picture with Iodized circle is this location. Will be returning to THIS location for every donation from here out! Thank you for the good service!"
"The employee's are really nice and professional, but they are over worked. I have waited 3 to 4 hours to get on machines. They need to hire more employees, because more and more people are leaving the center because of long lines and the wait. I would like to singie out some exceptional employees, Tia, Ariel, and Destiny. They are really nice and hard working. Appreciate them."
"They need some serious help here! They have very few employees here! I caught two buses, this past Saturday, which is not my preference bc the buses only run once an hr. Compared to every 30 minutes on weekdays. Got there by 2pm and they were closed. With a sign on door saying they were short staffed. I feel like they should of at least sent a notification to my email and app. Then I went yesterday, Monday, and they had only one person sticking."
"This place use to be nice and fast. But recently some changes have taken place and now it not so nice. They don’t have enough staff to operate efficiently. My donation wait time went from 1 hour to almost 5 hours. I noticed a new supervisor came and he does not support the employees."
"I was in there yesterday. The maple heights location. Everything was fine, until the girl who was sticking me and the nurse was having a conversion. About a lady and her phone. The issue is when I heard the girl speaking as if everyone comes in there is broke and has nothing at all. But I am sure I make more money then most in there. And the attitude that we are better then you because your donating and you desperate for money. Life happens and sometimes you need quick cash for what ever reason. But that doesn't mean you broke are less then anyone. To feel you better then a someone in there and your a young person who should be off to college somewhere, speaks volumes of who you are. So please don't put yourself above anyone. God has a way of letting you know your not."
