"Worst hospital ever. I have been waiting to be treated for 6 hrs, they keep telling me that, we have a lot of patients tonight and we have only one provider. How you have only one provider works in an entire hospital."
"DO NOT COME TO THIS EMERGENCY ROOM! Came in at 10:40pm for a deep cut, they were quick to do the x-ray but made us wait 5 hours for the results and stitch. If you can drive elsewhere, do so!"
"Please guys DO NOT TAKE YOUR Family or Friends here. This hospital just wants money. I visited them for ER visit and my insurance paid their part and there was a $300 balance and I never got the bill or anything and they went on and sued me for it. They don’t care about anything but money!"
"This place is not a hospital. It used to be, but it isn't anymore. Now it is just a corporation. Patients are not the priority here; the bottom line is so much more important. If there is no profit in seeing a patient, then that patient will not be seen. I took my wife there twice. The first time, she was admitted. For several days, her condition continued to get worse. Finally, I discovered that they were not giving her all her medications. The so-called doctors were directly responsible for her worsening condition. Once I got her away from them, she got better on her own. Later, I took her again because she had a kidney stone. She was told by some idiot in the ER that this wasn't an emergency and she was sent away. This entire building and all its outlying offices should be shut down immediately and not reopened until Sentara is no longer associated in any way with any part of it. Sentara is a prime example of everything that is wrong with healthcare in the USA. It is corporate medicine and it is diametrically opposed to patient care. Everyone at Sentara, from the CEO down to the janitor, should be fired. The entire establishment is pure evil. The next time I, or anyone I know, needs medical care, we will be traveling to another hospital where patients are actually cared for. Sentara has nothing at all to do with healthcare; only profit. Don't trust your health to a corporation; find a hospital."
"I had a scheduled induction here at Sentara and was hesitant to be seen here due to reviews however I was treated with the best quality care I could ever ask for. Upon arriving to my appointment first thing in the morning the front lobby lady greeted me and asked me and my significant other if we knew were we were going and she knew we were headed to labor and delivery due to our packed bags, she walked us to our destination and handed us off to my nurse who her name was Laila who walked us through what we will be doing and had us settle down to our room. I felt very comforted and welcome here from the beginning until the end. All the nurses and staff made sure I was okay and checked on periodically and never left my side. There was never a time I felt my needs were not met and the amount of support and encouragement I received was overwhelming. My labor and delivery was very traumatic for me and my partner however I’m beyond thankful I was taken care of so well here and that my baby was delivered safely, even the postpartum team made sure me and my baby were doing okay and vitals were taken regularly. I even received a follow up call after I was discharged from the hospital to make sure me and my baby were doing okay, which I was not expecting but that added touch goes a long way! All my questions were answered by all the nurses and doctors especially being a first time mom they made sure I left confidently that I was doing what I was supposed to be doing and reassured me they are one call away if I had any more questions or concerns after I was discharged. All the nurses and staff there work extremely hard during their long shifts and I feel they are not thanked enough for their service. I wish people would be willing to post more positive reviews instead of only the negatives, I’m hoping my review will help someone else in a similar situation as me."
