About the Main Campus Medical Center Emergency Room
Welcome to Main Campus Medical Center Emergency Room, Cleveland's premier emergency medical facility. We are proud to be a Level I Adult Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, providing top-tier emergency care for all ages. Our dedicated team of medical professionals is here to handle any medical emergency, from chest pain and stroke symptoms to food poisoning and beyond.
In Case of Emergency:
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 9-1-1 immediately. For life-threatening conditions, calling 911 or heading straight to the nearest emergency room is crucial.
Wait Times:
Our emergency room wait times represent the average duration from check-in until a patient is seen by a qualified medical practitioner, which could be a physician, advanced practice nurse, or physician assistant. We prioritize patients based on the severity of their injuries, and the number of patients can impact actual wait times. Our wait times are continuously averaged over the last hour and updated every 4 minutes to provide you with the most current information.
Exceptional Emergency Care:
At Main Campus Medical Center Emergency Room, we are leaders in emergency medicine. Our extensive experience and proven capabilities mean that many other hospitals refer their patients to our Emergency Department. No matter the type of emergency, our experts are equipped to provide compassionate and prompt care.
Our Locations:
In addition to our main campus in Cleveland, we have locations in Brecksville, Cleveland Heights, and Parma, ensuring that expert emergency care is accessible throughout the community.
Comprehensive Treatment:
Our team is skilled in treating a wide range of emergencies, from life-threatening conditions like chest pains and severe head injuries to everyday emergencies such as cuts and broken bones. For less severe issues, our MetroHealth Express Care locations offer a convenient and cost-effective alternative, with on-site radiology services for sprains, strains, and minor injuries.
Making the Right Choice:
Choosing between an express care center and an emergency room depends on the severity of your condition. Express care centers are ideal for moderate flu-like symptoms, minor cuts requiring stitches, and other non-life-threatening issues. However, for severe symptoms like chest pain, sudden slurred speech, or serious head injuries, heading to an emergency room is essential due to the availability of robust services, additional medical staff, and advanced diagnostic capabilities.
Provider Ratings:
Currently, there is no rating available for this provider for one of two reasons: they either do not see patients directly or have not received the minimum number of patient survey responses.
For unparalleled emergency medical care in Cleveland, trust Main Campus Medical Center Emergency Room to provide the expertise and compassion you need during critical moments.

Reviews of Main Campus Medical Center Emergency Room
"Im 27 I literally broke my back I can no longer walk and sitting is the worst pain right now. I was told to wait in the waiting room . I asked if I could at least have ice or a heat pad (something) I'm in severe pain . What I was told was shocking . " We can't give you anything because others will ask for stuff too". Crazy to be told that in a HOSPITAL. Never have I ever been told that before at any other hospital . Don't even get me started on the cleanliness. This place is the most disgusting hospital I've ever been to. Bathrooms have blood and pee all over the floors and around the toilet. Their " fresh linens" stained. Someone spilled something on the floor and staff cleans it with JUST paper towels. No mop no sanitary equipment nothing. Someone needs to inspect this place and give them an F rating . 0 stars"
"Went here for a cat scan for a kidney stone. It was a bit of a wait but the doctor and nurses were all very nice and kept apologizing about the wait. Lots of these reviews seem mad about having to wait but it’s important to remember that if you are left waiting in the emergency room it’s because you are not dying. Waiting isn’t fun, but being a trauma patient rushed in by ambulance is far worse."
"It had its major pros and major cons but most importantly- if you are having a very serious life threatening emergency I wouldn’t recommend this place because of how long it takes. We were there for 6 hours, and it took 2 hours to even be seen, 3 hours for any tests to be ran, 6 for all tests to be ran and reviewed. It’s very rough around the edges, the bathroom didn’t lock, I saw dried blood on the floor and bloody gauze on the floor, and garbage all over the waiting room. By far the best part of the place was the medical staff we interacted with. This does not include the front desk staff who were rude and not understanding of LGBTQ patients. Our guardian angel was a nurse named Sam or Sammy, she had a pink Barbie pin on, she had phenomenal bedside manners and a upbeat and playful approach that really put us at ease. She was incredibly proactive and accommodating, offering me a drink, getting the patient prepped for testing before we saw the doctor, and helped the patient with the wrong name issue he experienced at the front desk. I will not forget her kindness and skill with her job, she went above and beyond for us to make sure the patient and I were both comfortable and cared for which helped so much. I hope she is doing well and is rewarded for her hard work, thank you! If she is your nurse for your visit, you will receive excellent care!"
"I checked into the hospital at 6:00 PM and left at 6:00 AM. The hospital was in an unsanitary condition, with blood, dirt, and grime all over the common areas. The nurses were dropping needles and reusing them. The chairs in the waiting area were broken and rickety, and the armrests were broken. The staff was rude and treated the patients like garbage. There were not enough chairs for the number of people waiting, and I had to stand once I was called to a different waiting area. The staff forgot that I was there and had to ask my name because they did not know who I was. I had been there since 6:00 PM, and it was almost 9:30 PM. They finally gave me a urine cup at 10:00 PM, and it sat next to me for four hours until it was tested. The doctor said they should have run a specific test at the beginning, which would have shortened my visit. Unbelievable useless hospital."
