"Let’s start with the positive - the location and the live music are awesome. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much where it stops. First off - you better plan to be there for a couple of hours. The food takes FOREVER to come out. From what I hear, they have a very small kitchen that can’t keep up with the demand. They’re also understaffed on servers which exacerbates the issue. Secondly - the food quality is “average” at best. My friend asked how the green beans were prepared and was told “I’m pretty sure they’re from a can.” Really? Why aren’t you using fresh ingredients? The sweet tea is horrifically weak, the walleye has a ton of bones…. On the positive the fries are good. Thirdly - there are children’s toys all over the inside. Why? This is a restaurant, not a daycare. There such potential for this place simply given the location. They’re sitting on a gold mine but seem to not know how to handle it. My suggestion? Good music spot. Other than that, avoid it until they shut it down, get a decent sized kitchen, more staff, redesign the menu to use decent ingredients, and get some education on how to run a restaurant. 2 out of 5 stars simply because our server was nice."
"The ambiance is great but that’s it. The food took nearly an hour to come out and the salad come out with the food, not before. The server was great but it looked like there were just 2 servers for a busy Saturday night. If you want to listen to the live band, cool. Get a drink from the bar, better go in and get it yourself. Hungry? Good luck. We had small portions and the fish had bones in it when it arrived. Really do not recommend other than listening to the band"
"My family has been waiting to have dinner here for some time. The location is beautiful next to the lake. The parking lot is small and tight, but that wasn’t a problem for us. The problem began when we sat and waited 15 minutes to be handed menus. This was approximately 6:15. We were told “we’re running short on menus sorry.” Okay no problem. However it took another 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We ordered some drinks from the bar, waters, and an appetizer all at the same time. It took an additional 10 minutes to receive our drinks. When we received our drinks, we ordered our meals at around 6:35. We were out of waters for some time before they were refilled. Keeping in mind there were several tables open and a number of servers. Then it was 7:41 and we NEVER received our appetizer much less our meals. We weren’t updated about the status of anything we ordered. When our server finally came to our table I asked about how much longer it would be. The response I received was, “I don’t know.” It’s now 8:00pm, we asked for our check to pay for our drinks. That took additional time. We went somewhere else. Bottom line, if you want to wait 2 hours plus for an appetizer and dinner, this is the place for you. I completely understand if they were short staffed or if it was very busy. I worked in the service industry for 12 years and understand that aspect. This lack of service to guests and lack of communication and attention is just rude and unacceptable. Unfortunately we won’t be back."
"We come here a few times a year. Every visit is as nice as the previous time. Right on the lake, excellent perch and all around great service. NOTE: Recently diagnosed with neurological disease. Dropped a whole Long Island Iced Tea. They understood and did not require payment (even though we paid) . This place is worth every penny and guaranteed a good meal with great service and ambience. Thank you Driftwood Inn for making every visit special."
"The food was just as good as the atmosphere! We had the perch and walleye dinners while enjoying the weather and live band. Staff was short handed but gave a heads up that things may be slower. Service was still great, and we got our food I. Good time."
