"Very clean and comfortable loves our stay there Highly recommend"
"What a dump. Cleaning service didn't come everyday. Sticky carpet, 1/4" of dust on the ceiling fan. Room so small we had to climb over our luggage to get to the bed. TV didn't work. Ghetto blasters in the alley at 3 am. We asked to move rooms, but they said they were full up. Funny how we were the ONLY car in the parking lot (that should have told us something)! They were just too lazy. I wouldn't stay here again for free!"
"While I've stayed in much worse, the hotel was underwhelming for what we paid. The bed was comfortable enough, but it felt old. Overall it was maintained well, but it felt like that might be a facade. Breakfast was very basic, one morning the coffee was cold and there was barely any food available. Room pricing seemed to vary amongst guests from $49 to $300+. At best, this is a "
"Our stay at this hotel was for one night so we only had the opportunity to meet two of the staff. Both were very nice, courteous and easy to talk to. We rode public transportation from the airport. The hotel was one block from the closest stop, making it very accessible. The next day we simply walked downtown which saved us a bundle on cab fares or car rental. They do have plenty of parking space if you need to park. The hotel looks dated, but everything was in working order. We had a small fridge and microwave in our room, night stands, 6 drawer dresser, approx. 40" flat screen TV, king-size bed, iron and ironing board and coffee maker with both coffee and tea. The shower/tub combination was unique for a hotel, but there was plenty of hot water and the bathroom and room were very clean. The bed was a typical hotel mattress. We had 6 pillows. Plenty of blankets and towels. Our room color was a darker brown with contrasting white ceiling. It looked like a designer had tried, but the paint was a little dark for a hotel room, in my opinion. However, the paint was fresh; the white was white and it had been professionally painted. The carpets in the hallways and rooms were not worn and looked in good shape. Our arrival was in winter. The baseboard heating worked well, but there was also a spare heater and box fan in the room too for those who like it hotter or colder. Breakfast consisted of Eggo waffles, dry cereal, bananas, different types of bread, bagels, milk, juices and coffee. I think there were a couple other items too. I've been to much pricier hotels with less breakfast. Going into the booking I knew I was not booking the Sheraton or similar hotel. This was a whirlwind trip, we did not visit Anchorage for the room. We came to play in the city, so there was no desire to spend a lot of money for a hotel. I got exactly what I needed and expected- a good, clean room for a fair price. I slept well and ate well before I left. If I were to return to the Northland I would not have any qualms about staying at this hotel again. I appreciated my stay."
"Our experience with the staff really really let down this hotel. Since they ride the shuttle bus to the airport, there’s nobody there. But, when they arrived, they were grumpy, moody, rude, and really not in any mood to check us in. Theres no lift (we were on the third floor), and though the room was acceptable, it wasn’t the nicest. Very, very hot, too. I’m not sure if amazing staff could’ve made up for it, but it’d’ve helped!"
