"Kris Miller at Alpine Dermatology quickly resolved several skin issues that I've had for years and were really bothering me (I had been told by other doctors they were untreatable). He took the time to explain the cause and treatment options clearly and answer my questions. He was available after the appontment by email or phone and followed up quickly with biopsy results. Excellent service and so glad I finally have the issues resolved."

"It's been months since my visit and I am reminded daily of the disappointment with this experience as I have not had any of my issues resolved. I called the office multiple times beforehand to verify that the visit (with a referral from my Dr.) was going to be covered by my insurance. With lots of back and forth I was left with the impression that it was going to be covered. The appointment itself was odd. The nurse was very sweet and empathetic, but that was not enough to make up for the manic and rash consultation I had with Dr. Miller. I made it clear what I was experiencing and what products were definitely not working for me. The response I received was a very overwhelming and manic explanation of how skin works that didn't entirely explain why my skin acts the way that it does. I then received a recommendation to use products that I had just said do not work for me for one issue and recommendation for another product for another issue, which I have been using since. Obviously the recommendation to use products that have not worked for me has gotten me nowhere. I continue to experiment with different brands to no avail. The latter recommendation has shown some slight improvement, but overall it is clear that I am having a reaction to something that causes the same types of breakouts that I struggled with before. Not to mention that I had to pay for this entire visit out of pocket, which came as a surprise to me. Such a WASTE of my money, especially in these times. Very disappointed. If you are struggling with your skin save yourself time, money and stress and fly elsewhere for care."

"I've suffered with acne since I was a teenager, I've been to other dermatologists and taken the strongest medication possible for treatment, while I had short-term results, nothing worked long-term. Finally in my early 30's I decided that enough was enough and started going to Kris, he worked with me to treat and eventually clear up my acne. Now a few years out my skin is still clear and it's a world of difference for me. Unfortunately living in a small town like Juneau we don't always have a large selection of providers to select from, but I am grateful for the services offered by Alpine Dermatology and Kris. He always took the time to talk to me and listen to my concerns and the help I got really did change things for me. Kris can talk and move fast, but I never felt like he didn't give me the time I needed. He was available by email even after my appointment and was genuinely concerned with my progress and care. I would go to him again in a minute if I ever have another skin concern and highly recommend him to others. Just know you need to advocate for yourself and be prepared with your questions and concerns; since Kris only offers appointments one week out of the month to Juneau patients, he sees a huge number of patients every day and can be understandably rushed."
