"The opportunity this program brings to Alaskan's is irreplaceable.I have completed one semester thus far in the UAA/ISU College of Pharmacy program here in Anchorage, Alaska. I am very pleased with my academic experience and the motivation of the faculty and staff to see their students succeed. I would highly encourage students who are considering pharmacy or any occupation in the medical field to consider this college. I first heard about the program through Dr. Wadsworth, the program's dean, who spoke briefly about it to my Biochemistry II class in my last semester. Upon researching more about the program and pharmacy in general, I asked to take a tour where I was shown the audio-visual-distance-learning classrooms, lounge, kitchen, and case studies room. I strongly suggest asking for a tour as they are more than obliged to do so. There is adequate resources to supplement studying - the college provides many things financially from giving us access to Lexicomp and Facts and Comparisons to paying for our APhA memberships as students. I am sure it comes out of tuition, but them managing it is very helpful. There is much physical space to study including our OWN class rooms (each class has their own year round) and a case studies room both having large white boards and technology for presentations, etc. The kitchen and lounge space is a big plus. I feel like my potential as a student is valued and motivation to be a confident pharmacist is supported!"
