"This place is a joke compared to UAA or UAF. Do not apply if you are Alaskan Native! I made that mistake. If you buy cheap, you get cheap. They discriminate against Alaskan Natives. Badly. The main lady, Jennifer, refers to Natives as "Cotton-Pickers," what an evil and rude lady. Their student ID's don't work as bus passes. They don't keep up with contracts. Also, the Administrative staff make mistakes on your Papwork involving hundreds of dollars and pretend it's no big problem. Then pressure you because of their mistakes. Also, in the first three weeks, I did not receive any books. What a complete waste of three weeks of class with no books. What a waste of my time. Overall, terrible experience here. I do not recommend it to anyone. UAA or UAF actually has staff that care about the education of Native Alaskans. Cause once you sign the dotted line with ACC you are just a number told to shut up and wait. How am I to wait three weeks of class for something simple as books. Again what a waste of time, and to be called a "Cotton-Picker," for asking to have my books and bus pass was the last straw. This place is falling apart. Does not honor their contracts, and when it's their fault, they find a way to make it your problem with no recompense."
"As long as you do as you’re told, and follow every instruction they give you- You will succeed. I didn’t and I graduated with less scores than I was supposed to have. Even when I addressed it they didn’t care to address the mistakes or the incorrect GPA. And congrats to the other that became valedictorian due to my lowered GPA."
"I went to support the Massage Therapy program. My student therapist was Grey. The massage started on time and Grey showed knowledge and skill by asking the right questions during the intake process and providing excellent feedback during out process. Grey disd a very good job in the medium to deep tissue massage range."
"This school is an unorganized joke. Don't waste your money. They'll do things like charge 10k for tuition and then have the class watch Osmosis Jones. Or simply employ instructors that don't understand basic algebra. Having enrolled, and attended a good chunk of the CMA program, deciding to continuing my education elsewhere was the best decision I made in regards to ACC. After spending some time working in the medical field in Anchorage, I tend to doubt the capability of ACC graduates. UAA has a much better structure for this cert and your credits will be available to transfer should you seek to continue your higher education. Last I heard ACC only transfers credits to Wayland Baptist College."
"I’m Alaska native. I got my travel degree and was in the presidents honor roll. At that time prior to going to school we were asked to fill out our complete work history and that anything filled out will be saved throughout history for later use if needed. I recently called to take another class my native corporation will be paying for. I was told they would not except me for I had a warrant for my arrest. I went and found that the warrant they were looking for it had been dismissed. I tried for several months to contact Jennifer, the owner. I had decided not to go to school but had requested a copy of my graduation certificate and presidents honor roll degree and work history. She said she could no longer find such things but had sent me another graduation degree in its place with the wrong date on it. I did eventually find my original decree and presidents honor roll. I’m disgusted that they would not allow me to go to school again with a full scholarship and could not find any information on me ever going to that school before and my work history. As in Alaska native, take your training elsewhere !"
