"I called two months ago and heard from the director that there would be a meeting to discuss whether I can be seen there. I have a disabling condition that would make me eligible, but for some reason there is a group approval process. I have left follow-up voicemails for the director requesting a return call, but she appears unwilling to call me back. I called the local VA about this, but the VA has no involvement with what goes on there. When I called the AK state veterans services office, the person I spoke with had no idea what I referred to when I mentioned the Vet Center. What the Hell is going on in Alaska? Is the Vet Center in Anchorage an exclusive club with unreasonable standards or expectations of the service-disabled veterans they allow into their group? Where do they get their funding? The funding source needs to know of the unreasonably exclusive and highly selective organization they are funding."

"Great people serving those who served. All gave some, some gave all, some remember too much. May those who survive find peace before they rest."

"A disgrace to our nation, the "counselors" there degradingly and patronizing told me to leave, when all I was hoping to do arrange a phone call to my Vet Center therapist back in Hawaii. The clearly undereducated and undertrainined man named "Christian" used his center's short staffing to refuse services to me, and instead told me I had to get to Muldoon to get an ID before they would see me. According to Google Maps,. it is an over 2hour walk to get to Muldoon; and if the counselor listened to my concerns that I had just been punched in the face and have dangerous people out to harm me and my friends, he would not have exited me this rudely."
