About the Bridge Bay Campground
Bridge Bay Campground is located in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, United States. Named for its proximity to Bridge Bay Marina on Yellowstone Lake, this campground offers a scenic setting with wooded areas, open meadows, and limited views of the lake. Popular with fishing and boating enthusiasts, the campground has over 400 regular sites and 4 group sites available for RVs, tents, and combination RV/tent camping. Hikers and cyclists can also find campsites for $10.00 tax per person (non-reservable). The campground is at an elevation of 7,800 feet and offers a combination of sunny and shaded sites.
During the summer season, from May 17 to September 2, 2024, guests can enjoy the beauty of Yellowstone Lake while staying at Bridge Bay Campground. RVs up to 40 feet long can be accommodated in pull-through and back-in sites, although the sites may not be level. While there are no utility hook-ups at the sites, there is an RV dump station available.
Guests can book tours in advance online or by calling the reservations office. It is important to note that odors attract bears, so certain items must be stored in a hard-sided vehicle or shared food storage boxes located throughout the campgrounds. Picnic meals, fast food, and deli lunches are available for purchase at restaurants and snack shops within the park.
For dining options, guests can visit the various restaurants and cafeterias located throughout Yellowstone National Park. Dinner reservations are required at fine dining facilities, and guests can inquire at any lodging front desk or dining room host stand for more information. Enjoy the natural beauty of Yellowstone National Park while staying at Bridge Bay Campground.

Reviews of Bridge Bay Campground
"Stayed here for four nights during the summer on a long family roadtrip. Don't know how we lucked out on such an amazing tent spot, which was on the edge of a beautiful wide open field that looked out over Yellowhead Lake! Our last evening we enjoyed watching the moose wander around. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not sure if cleaning of the facilities doesn't happen on the weekends but the bathrooms were running out of TP and the wash area was full of flies (in high temperatures) - not very pleasant. Was helpful to have the fishing bridge close by for when we wanted showers, snacks even souvenirs and gas for our way out of the park. Was a nice location for seeing many of the amazing sights Yellowstone has to offer! Overall, would recommend for tent camping."
"Right in the middle of Yellowstone Park. Perfect place to start your day trips through the park. We booked 1 day before we came and were able to reserve a spot for our 26 ft. trailer for 2 nights. Sites are close together, but the campground is mainly empty during the day because people are venturing out in the morning and coming back in the afternoon."
"We were in section I and it was absolutely beautiful. they had camping spaces that were sectioned off for medium size tent. it didn't seem like we could place a large tent in the section. there was another smaller section for a smaller tent. The fire pit still had burnt wood in it from the previous people. previous people also left a lighter fluid and cardboard for starter which was pretty amazing. a note was included with the lighter fluid asking us to leave it for the next person. The food locker seemed kind of rusted out and dirty. I wouldn't have wanted to put my food in there. luckily my parents were staying at fishing bridge RV Park and were supplying all the food for the trip so we didn't need to store anything in the food locker. there is a second locker closer to the campsite for anything else you would want to put in it. that wasn't food. the food locker was appropriately distance from the campsite for bear safety. There are no showers at this campsite. the closest ones are at fishing bridge RV Park and they cost $5 a shower. since my parents were staying at the RV park, they had a shower card. Good for two showers a day. When we were packing up three female elks and three fawns sauntered through the campground before everybody was awake. it was probably about 6:00 a.m. The bathrooms were super clean and well stocked all of the time."
"We tent camped at Bridge Bay for 2 nights and it was perfect! Staff was so friendly and helpful. We had a site in the back I loop, so we were away from the main section. It was quiet and away from people! Bathrooms were nice and cleaned often! Just watch for bison and elk!! LOL they love to wander around ;-) As for showers / laundry - you can go to Fishing Bridge RV park down the road. It takes 4 minutes to get there. The facilities were great! Plenty of space to do laundry; have quarters! The showers were great. I had kids with me, so I was able to pay for one person and bring my small kids with me into the family stall. The shower stall had a baby changing station and a toilet as well as a bench area near the shower. The shower head was adjustable, so I could lower it for my 4 year old and he didn’t get water in his eyes as much! The park also has a general store and a car repair shop, so if you need anything it’s convenient to grab what you need!!"
"We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it! The camping sites have ample room, but you are extremely close to your neighbors and can hear almost all conversations. The wildlife roam free through the campground, can be amazing or scary. Elk and Bison were predominantly in our area, but a grizzly and cubs were two loops over. The park rangers are on top of the animals and scare them away if there is a perceived threat so we never felt nervous. More than once we woke up to bison grazing in front of our tent, just an amazing experience! The washrooms are clean and there are plenty of them! No showers but fishing bridge is only 5 minutes away and has an amazing shower facility. If you are able to bring your own firewood I’d recommend it as the bundles on site are expensive and had no kindling so bring a hatchet. Overall we loved our stay at this campground! Next time we might pick something more central but am really happy we were here this trip!"
