Reviews of Juneau-Douglas City Museum
"Excellent asset for the downtown area, providing a nice overview of the city's history and area's Tlingit tribal culture. 25 min video (plays on a loop), $6 entry for non locals. I recommend this for anyone visiting (or living here!). Spend an hour, an afternoon, or repeat visits! All on one level. Great stop on a rainy day. Small enough that you don't get museum fatigue, but a varied collection with some very special exhibits. Gift shop with local goods."
"The museum is nice but the must-do is their daily walking tour ($31.50 pp including museum admission, about 1.5 hours). We took this with Anne and she was amazing. She gave us so much information on the people, history, culture, etc. We were able to ask a variety of questions and she answered all of them. They limit this to a small group so you will included and easily hear and discuss what you want. Plus - the money goes to this museum instead of a cruise company or large tour operator."
"This is a nice museum right across the street from the State Capital Building. It is a smaller museum with information and artifacts about the history of the State of Alaska. They have a little gift shop and the staff are friendly."
"Another great little museum if you want to avoid the hardcore tourist stuff. Small but informative. Helpful staff. Well maintained"
