"This was my first time through Flaming Gorge, and I felt it was one of the most beautiful drives I've ever taken. If you are a geology enthusiast then you cannot miss this spectacular place. I visited in late September after the summer rush and I pretty much had peace and quiet on my entire trip. At this time of year the aspen trees were changing color and the temperatures were in the 70s during the day. I saw that there is a permit fee for travelers (like national parks) but I never came across anyone that required me to pay any money."
"I like the Utah side the best, it's the prettiest. And Wyoming raised their fishing license price so we don't want to go to that side anymore."
"This place really is lake Powell jr. Go to Powell in the spring or fall then go to Flaming Gorge during the summer months. It's hot days but not scorching and the nights are cool."
