Reviews of Hilton Anchorage
"DON'T STAY HERE HOUSEKEEPING *STOLE* ONE OF MY BAGS! MANAGEMENT DID NOTHING WHEN I REPORTED IT!! Bag contained all gifts I had brought from the lower 48 to give to my family. I told the front desk and they said they would try to give me credits on my Hilton account. It's been weeks, they never gave me any credits. I called the hotel about five times since checking out and every time a different manager says they will look into it and call me back. Nobody ever calls me back and they never did anything. Liars and thieves. Literally. They took an entire bag full of brand new merchandise out of my hotel room while I was out. This is the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel and I will never say in a Hilton again. Update: now someone sends me emails from a "no reply" Hilton email asking for my info. I've tried replying but it doesn't go through. I also tried calling the front desk multiple times again just now, and there is no answer."
"Very nice views at Hilton Anchorage. WiFi lasts less than a minute then disappears length of entire stay. Uncontrollably hot room on 4th floor (467). Thermostat must be a dummy unit. Set for 60F, room is 70F and we had to leave the windows open all night with outside temp 24F. Pillows were pushed against heart registers and boots/suitcases on top to hold. Additionally left curtains open on both sides of this corner room (east & south) to let more cold in. Hard time sleeping in this heat. Toilet base very wobbly, need to tighten bolts don't need any more caulk! Shower temperature very unpredictable. No room refrigerator. No room microwave. It was good enough for 2 nights but I wouldn't want to stay a whole week"
"This is a wonderful hotel and establishment! The staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms and lobbies are clean and tidy. I have delivered to and worked in this hotel, all my experience here has been wonderful!"
"The sunrise, with the mountain view, was gorgeous. The room was clean. There is no fridge or microwaves in the rooms. No snack vending machines. There were only drink vending machines. The breakfast was good, and I was able to get to-go trays to bring up for the kiddos to eat. The staff was nice about getting the trays for me to bring up."
"I stayed here for a work conference that was also held at the hotel. I was nervous about some of the reviews but I was perfectly pleased with my stay. The room was clean and well appointed. I stayed in the West Tower, which I suspect may be where rooms have been renovated. The check-in and check-out process was friendly and efficient. I was also pleased with the baggage hold service after I checked out but still needed an area to hold my bags until after my conference had wrapped up. Housekeeping came after my first overnight and replenished towels but didn't make the bed. This wasn't a big deal for me as a single traveler but might be an issue for others. Coffee at the cafe downstairs was quick and the staff was kind. The conference included a breakfast buffet, a seated lunch and an evening reception. Food and service at all meals were great; we were well taken care of. The convenience store inside the hotel has snacks and beverages, as well as any souvenirs you might want to take back to your kids. :) The homeless population has been mentioned in other reviews but I felt safe in and around the property. It is very close to shopping and restaurants. Our group included mostly women and we felt secure traveling in groups on foot. I belong to a loyalty program with another chain so I would likely stay somewhere else in the future but as long as you request to be in a renovated part of the building, I think you will be plenty happy and comfortable."
