Reviews of Alaska Photo Treks
"One of the reasons my friends and I wanted to travel to Alaska was to see the aurora! Going with Alaska Photo Treks was a good decision as Ben and Chad, the tour guides, were very enthusiastic about teaching us the science behind the northern lights. They also gave helpful tips on how to photograph them. The Alaska Photo Treks team is also honest about the tour - they do caution you about the weather and the possibility of viewing the auroras. They also allow you to choose other days if you wish to the tour later. 10/10 would recommend. This is what our group saw on march 21st (see photo)"
"Wow! What an incredible night chasing the Northern Lights. Take the chance and book it! Ask for Ben… a knowledgeable and attentive guide. Loved hearing his stories while we followed the ever changing flow of Aurora. You will enjoy it. ♥️"
"I was able to do both a day and night tour with this professional, and highly knowledgeable company. During the day I spent time with Carl, a military veteran, and learned several things about my camera’s features and how to actual make the adjustments for the time of photos I personally would enjoy. Carl also was very knowledgeable about the Anchorage area and its history so we were able to capture some unique moments on the tour. The night tour was with Ben and Colin which are also both very personable and professional. They were able to manage a group of viewers, equipment, and keep everyone warm at -6 degrees F. There was a mix-up in my booking and it was fixed and I was refunded for the rental camera I was not able to use. My only other issues were the campiness and length spent in the vehicles. I do highly recommend working with this company because they do enjoy helping people make the most of the experience and opportunity to capture the truly beautiful and mystical environment of Anchorage, Alaska and the Northern Lights."
"Fantastic workshop and tour. I learned so much about shooting the Aurora and the Arctic is an amazing time in Winter. Food was great, accommodations okay. Fairbanks hotel very nice, Ice carving competitions and dog sledding were great additions."
"This tour was everything I expected and more. Our tour guide, Carl, was very knowledgeable about Alaskan history, science, and of course, photography. Carl's tips on taking photos with a smartphone were precise. He was very patient, helpful, and made sure everyone got the best shots they could. Added bonus, he timed our tour so precisely that we got to see moose, LOL!! I highly recommend this tour! You'll leave Alaska with some great photos!"
