Reviews of Denali National Park and Preserve
"If it were possible to add a 6th star, I would! This park is an adventure to add to your "must-see-before-you-die" bucket list! By all means, be sure to take the long bus-tour that takes you through the park to a picturesque spot with a direct-view of Denali (formerly known as Mt. McKinley). Depending on the day and time, you stand a god chance to see a variety of wild creatures, from bald eagles to bear, moose, elk, mountain goats among other species, in their natural, mostly-unspoiled, habitat. The sheer size of the park can be overwhelming, and the views are noting short of spectacular - a photo opportunity at every turn! Be sure your batteries are fully charged going in, and unless you bring a portable charger, you're sure to bring it back drained. The bus drivers/tour guides are very knowledgeable of the park and know what to look for when it comes to spotting wild animals, so be sure to pay attention. There are a couple of stops along the trip, so be sure to take advantage of any potty-breaks since these are few and far apart."
"Such an incredible park. Can’t recommend highly enough to do some backcountry backpacking here (have to get a permit). It is by far the best way to truly experience this wilderness. The campgrounds are good too and can do day trips from there. You really don’t get to see much of the park in the first 15 miles before the guarded checkpoint, but if you take a bus tour or go at the time of year when you can drive your personal car through, that’s ideal."
"In the winter time every thing is closed and you can’t go fully inside the park, it’s so beautiful covered in snow but unfortunately all the animals won’t come out. I saw moose and wolf foot steps but I didn’t see any with my own eyes. I think it still looks beautiful covered in snow, can’t wait to return in April. I love Alaska so much, it’s such a beautiful place that isn’t filled with you know what everywhere like most USA states, 10/10 recommend Alaska"
"Denali was on our bucket list of parks to visit. Very nice but not quite what we expected. We did get to see part of the mountain though! And some fabulous vistas of the other mountains in the area."
"This national park is incredible! We took a bus tour provided though the park and it was unreal. Our tour guide was funny, informative and super knowledgeable. We saw a lot of animals and tons of beautiful scenery. The park is remarkably clean and feels totally like you are in the wild. The visitor center is super neat. Lots to learn and great gift shop. This is a must see park when you visit Alaska."
