"My son and I had a wonderful first dental visit with Dr. Kolean. I'm shocked at the review that stated the staff was mistreated because the staff seemed very happy in their positions, and I witnessed many positive and mutually respectful interactions between the entire team. When Dr. Kolean wasn't around, his hygienist shared with me how Dr. Kolean refuses to upcharge patients even for simple products like toothpaste. This impacted us because my son and I both really benefit from prescription-strength, fluoride toothpaste for our sensitive teeth. This has cost us $45+ a tube at other dental offices, but Dr. Kolean gave it to us at his price, which was only $16. The hygienist shared that upcharging patients for products goes against his moral foundation and who he is. She seemed to have a lot of personal respect for this way of treating patients and how Dr. Kolean chooses to operate his office. This same hygienist shared that she also works for another dentist, and that office doesn't work off of the same principles because the other dentist doesn't share Dr. Koean's point of view. When we left the office, my son said that was the first dental visit he remembers where he received explanations and felt valued as a person rather than just treated as the next patient in line. My son and I had a very posit experience during our appointments. Dr. Kolean was very upfront about what dental work was needed, but he also did not recommend additional work and gave us choices that fit our needs and our budget. I sensed that he is a man of integrity and that personal foundation carries over into how he runs his business and practice. Everyone we encountered seemed valued and happy in their positions. As such, I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kolean and his team."
