Reviews of Pine Edge Cabins
"This was my second time staying in Silver Gate at Silver Gate Lodging and I hope to return again next season. The accommodations: The rooms in the smaller cabins have two queen sized mattresses that are exceptionally comfortable/seem to be fairly new. Pillows on both beds had varied firmness levels so everyone could have one that suited their preference. The rooms have full kitchens and all the necessary dishes as well as a full bathroom, shower and all. There is no wifi or TV in the rooms, but if you had an emergency or an urgent need, the shop is within 50 yards or so from most all of the main cabins and has wifi. The staff were excellent and accommodating during both of my stays- even got to meet the owner on this last trip and he was warm and welcoming. Almost posted this review without mentioning the front porch of the cabin- you’re looking out at beautiful, craggy mountains from the comfort of a covered porch with deep set Adirondack style chairs. It was heavenly even on rainy days and especially when it’s snowing. The location: You enter through the North entrance of Yellowstone National Park and drive an hour or so through some of the most beautiful lands in the country, then exit through the Northeast entrance toward Silver Gate/Cooke City, Silver Gate is less than a mile from the NE Yellowstone entrance, so close that on my first trip there were bison, moose, and even a bear in town that we got to see up close from the comfort and safety of the cabin. The locals are quick to give you heads up if they’ve seen any wildlife- anything from a “we’ve heard there’s a bear around, so be careful and carry bear spray” to “if you go look near the river there’s a baby moose!”. In any direction from Silver Gate you can find beautiful vistas and amazing wildlife, so it acts as a truly lovely home base as you explore this beautiful place. “But there’s no wifi or cell service or TV???”: I don’t know your situation but I am a millennial and I look at a screen nearly 50 hours/week for work. On top of that I’ve been watching an unprecedented amount of TV with the pandemic and all and I’m on social media almost every day. Being out in the middle of a national park while still having the creature comforts of a hot shower and a warm bed gave me a place to recharge without distraction. I brought paints, books, and downloaded my favorite music to play while cooking dinner for my group- I unplugged without trying and it was awesome. Honestly I can’t wait to go back to Silver Gate hopefully sometime soon. (Wanted to make a note- these pictures were from my initial stay earlier this year, no snow on the ground yet as of 9/18.)"
"I lived here for 1 night during my road trip to Yellowstone. Surprised that I could get the room just two weeks ahead during a peak season. The price is fair enough for its quality. Nice view and plenty of restaurants around. The only downside is its location since it’s close to NE gate, so most people don’t enter or exit the park from here. Apart from that, everyone is great. You book though its own website."
"This was one of the most beautiful little cabins I've seen and experienced. It's a single room cabin with two queen beds, a small kitchen and a bathroom but oddly enough room for four people to move around. The decor inside was appropriate and enjoyable to look at, but the view outside was absolutely stunning. They were completely accommodating to us, with our late arrival after hours. It is only about a mile outside Yellowstone. I would stay here again and again without hesitation. Just don't go to the restaurant across the street."
"The location of this place cannot be beat! The NE Entrance to Yellowstone is very peaceful and is a great escape from all of the tourists in the park. The staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The cabins are an incredible steal for the area...there are some places in and around the park that charge $300+ for just a room! Our cabin was clean and had everything we might need (plus a kitchen and a free guidebook for the park)! I really recommend stopping by the Silver Gate General Store. They have great stuff- unique custom gifts, beautiful cards, and the cutest little metal goats. There is no TV or internet in Silver Gate but they make that clear when you book and we enjoyed being unplugged for a few days! If you need internet, the Chamber of Commerce in Cooke City has free high speed internet. And at the General Store, they have a phone you can use if you need to get in touch with anyone! We absolutely loved our stay and can't wait to return...we will recommend Silver Gate Lodging to all of our friends traveling in the area."
"An absolute hidden gem. Located in Silver Gate, a mere mile outside the Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone, the quietest, unquestionably most beautiful entrance to the park. The views of Amphitheater Mountain from the property are stunning. Cozy cabins with the most comfortable beds. Perfect after a long day of exploring the park..."
