Reviews of PicTours Alaska
"My husband and I booked this tour on a whim. The tour was fun, but felt a bit rushed. Wendy was our guide for the day. She was fun, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. We got some terrific photos and especially enjoyed our time at the conservatory, although we wish it had been longer. The only issue that soured the day a bit was her distracted driving. We didn't always feel safe as Wendy kept checking her notes and her phone while driving. Having to worry about that issue took away from the fun."
"Patrick, our Pictour Guide took us on a great adventure for 6 hours. Was probably one of the best tours we have been on in Canada and Alaska over the last month while in these two countries. Friendly, informative and knowledgeable describes Patrick. We stopped many times to learn and then shoot, many great photos using our smartphones. We opted to visit the awesome Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (instead of the Portage Glacier option as we had seen it days earlier). Was an excellent alternative to see black & brown bears & moose close up. (Along with very cute porcupines, foxes etc). The difference with independently visiting all the places Pictours took us was the insider knowledge that Patrick provided. Invaluable. Highly recommend!"
"Driver was enthusiastic, but this was definitely Not the tour that I signed up and paid for! I expected what the PicTours website description stated: "See scenic backdrops, snow capped mountains, waterfalls, and topaz-blue glaciers. We make stops at the best sites for the day. Just relax and soak up beauty during this award-winning excursion." Out of the total five hours, we spent one hour driving down to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center - which is a wonderful place with a great mission, but basically a zoo - and then we spent over two hours there! Out of the seven people in our group, four of us felt this was Much too long especially since it was not mentioned in the tour description at all. The return trip was better even though we had little time to take photos on the turn point road discussed on the advertising on the Alaska channel. The weather became worse during our time at the zoo, so most views were too cloudy by the time we got there. Driver tried to help with some extra stops off the highway on way back. The time at the zoo Really needs to be shortened, or at the very least Inform people that 2 hours out of the five will be at a zoo - albeit a unique and altruistic animal rescue and conservation project."
"We took their Wild life tour with Portege Glacier. Holly our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She made our trip truly enjoyable"
"We went with Josh. Very knowledgeable.. explained everything along the way and history of Alaska.. went through Turnaige point where it’s composed of sea mud and tide goes up to 40 feet at times.. very scenic drive and than to wildlife conservation center where we saw grizzly bear, costal bear and black bear, we also saw moose, elks and Arctic fox. In the end we went to see some glaciers and portage lake. Weather was not greatest but able to take some nice pics. Overall great experience and josh was great. Thank you for making our first day very memorable"
