Reviews of Gold Rush Sled Dog Tours
"Dogs were well cared for and we had an amazing sled ride."
"We had a great time at this excursion. Booked through our cruise but was worth it even with the mark up because we did get back quite late in the day, close to when the ship was departing. We got a ride on a dog-pulled carriage, time to meet and pet our sled dogs, several historical explanations about the dogs and the Iditarod and then met the puppies. They were only 4 weeks old and were just precious. It was lovely to learn about the history of the sport and wonderful to cuddle with the puppies. Moreover, the camp is truly an interesting sight - I have never seen so many dogs in one place and they are kept in a mountain valley, so the whole thing feels unreal. I highly recommend this experience, but one thing to know is that there is a scenic drive up a mountain to get to the camp."
"Had a great time with Josh and his dogs today. Got introduced to what it takes to raise, train and compete in this sport. Meeting the puppies and learning Iditarod history was the icing on the cake."
"Wonderful experience! Our Musher Steve was full of knowledge about the dogs. He is very passionate about training and keeping his dogs health and happy! This was the hi light of my trip to juneau"
"This is the one excursion I had to do in Alaska. Little disappointed it left us very little time in Juneau but it was worth it. One fun fact is that the camp doesn't charge the owners a boarding fee. Your ticket purchase helps buy the food and care for the animals. There are a couple tents to learn about the history of mushering and changes. Then you get to watch a yard full of dogs cheer on their mates when they take off for the adventure. I won't ruin it all, but the views are gorgeous and if you are a dog lover or have interest in the sport, I highly recommend."
