Reviews of Canyon Lodge & Cabins
"Don’t waste your money! Beautiful on the outside, not so on the inside. No WI-FI or Air Conditioning. We knew there wasn’t any pool or hot tub and didn’t care as we spent our time sightseeing. Small cramped rooms but, beds were pretty comfortable. Not much water pressure in shower either. Not sure how far we had to walk down a trail to the gift shop and eating facility. By time we walked there and back- we were even more exhausted. Food was like a huge cafeteria however, had a couple different cuisines to choose from. Food wasn’t very good, we threw $50.00 of food for 2 of us in trash, we definitely are not picky eaters either. Extremely disappointed! Staff wasn’t even very friendly and no one even smiled. Gift shop was at 1 end of building- Super Expensive and almost Everything was Made in China- disappointing. The assistant manager of gift shop was a super nice man & very friendly. You can tell he loves meeting new people. He was by far the Best Asset of this lodge! The price for what you pay for and what you get is purely taking advantage of tourists that visit Yellowstone."
"This is not worth the hefty price tag. There are other cheaper & higher quality places to stay within the park. The amenities in the hotel lack greatly, no tv, no pool, the lobby is no bigger then an average low budget lobby. You’re paying for location which is honestly not great, at least at old faithful, the lodges there are breathtaking, huge Lobby’s, updated dinning rooms and a mere 5 minute walk to get old faithful. Would never stay at Canyon Village again."
"Perfect location for sightseeing in the park. Easy walk through the beautiful woods (20 min) to the Grand Canyon. Room is large, and comfortable. Ours had a bathtub, which I loved after hiking all day. Location to Mud Pots, Hayden Valley was awesome. We also drove over to Lamar Valley but road and bridge construction blocked our way. We were in the Moran Lodge - furthest from the registration building but most quiet and nearest the woods. Out of the busy traffic area. Ice machine and water bottle refill station available in the building. No daily housekeeping but they did give us extra coffee when we asked. There is a table set up with chess and one with checkers that we saw people playing. There is Wifi at the hotel. Life saver for us because we had no signal with T Mobile. I would stay there again!"
"We stayed two nights in the beginning of October in a deluxe 2 queen room. The room seemed modern and clean. When I made the reservation I knew there was no TV or AC in the unit, but also note that there is no microwave or freezer (there is an ice machine down the hall). We were able to get strong wifi in our room, but it isn’t guaranteed. The cafeteria was a short walk away, but since our booking was at the beginning of October there were very limited food options. Note that breakfast is not included in the room price and was very limited in the cafeteria (microwaveable breakfast sandwiches). While the location was great being in the park, I struggle to think the cost was worth the stay."
"Had a very nice two night stay at Canyon Lodge. The staff were all terrific. The food options were OK - nothing to write home about - but given the fact that you're in the middle of a national park I think that's understandable. The location and buildings are all beautiful in my opinion. The rooms were nice but nothing extravagant. No A/C or cable and WiFi connectivity was a little spotty. Overall, I felt it was an amazing experience to stay overnight in Yellowstone just don't expect the comforts of a major hotel in a more developed location."
