Reviews
"Very cozy. Very clean cabin, basic stocked kitchen to make your own meals. This is important during the winter months because there are limited places to eat in nearby Cooke City. Perfect gateway into Yellowstone."
"Came up to the area to do some snowmobiling fir the weekend, Rented a small cabin which turned out perfect for three of us. Cabin was very clean and cozy. Small kitchen with stove and oven and large fridge. Bathroom was small and could pose a problem fir a larger individual. So be sure to ask. Stay here if you want some quiet at night as Cooke City can get rowdy at night. Also had Starlink internet service in the cabin, Will stay here again."
"This past summer, I was lucky enough to stay for 10 nights at Silver Gate Lodging. It was a perfect home-base for my trip to Yellowstone, only 1 mile outside of the northeast gate near Lamar Valley. The cabins are clean and there are many options depending on your group size. It is extremely convenient having the General Store and Range Rider bar/restaurant on the property. At the General Store you can grab snacks, souvenirs and other essentials you may need. The Range Rider has amazing food and a Hemingway exhibit as Hemingway used to hang out in that very spot. Silver Gate Lodging even has their own guiding service, Silver Gate Guides, so you can plan a tour right there as well. The staff at Silver Gate were exceptionally helpful, going above and beyond to assist with trip planning. Their knowledge of the area and willingness to provide recommendations enhanced my overall experience. Whether it was suggesting hiking trails or sharing local insights, their hospitality added a personal touch to the stay, making it even more enjoyable. The proximity to numerous hiking spots and the breathtaking mountain views made it an ideal base for adventures. Overall, Silver Gate Lodging is a great place to connect with people, share stories and truly step away from the everyday grind and appreciate this beautiful place. I am already planning to go back this summer."
"I have been coming to Silver Gate Lodging for 5 years now. The location is outstanding for those who like to visit Lamar Valley early in the morning. It is also a great place to just reconnect with nature. Our trip this winter included snow showing, watching animals, coffee in Cooke City, and just quiet reading time in the cabin. The winters are incredible but challenging. Come prepared and enjoy the quiet time of Silver Gate. L Hess"
"For off-season service, we were pleased with our stay. We experienced no issues. The cabins were clean, and the water was hot. The fridge/freezer is full size and they have a gas stove and oven. They provide all the necessary dishes, cookware, and utensils. Our cabin had seating for five not including the two beds. Wi-Fi is present, but no TV which is awesome! If you have kids, they provide a fun puzzle to pas the time. The location is great if you are spending most of your time in Lamar Valley and the surrounding areas. The price was great and we will stay here again next trip to Yellowstone."
