"Jackson Jesse O’Connor is, simply put, the greatest tour guide I’ve ever witnessed. If I could give 6 stars, I would. The man is a national treasure and deserves some kind of award from the state of Wyoming. His depth of knowledge about wilderness, wildlife, and terrain is truly exceptional, and only outdone by his passion for the history of Teton, Jackson Hole, and Yellowstone. You will not be disappointed by any tour led by Jackson Jesse O’Connor!"
"Alltrans used to be a local company, but was recently bought by Driver Provider, a BIG company based in Phoenix. I used them this week for their Mountain States Express service to and from the Salt Lake Airport. I would give the trip down to Salt Lake with Mike 5 stars. He's a great guy who also does Yellowstone Tours in the summer and I'm sure he'd give a great trip. But the trip home from Salt Lake with Tommy was confrontational and started out very badly. The van was scheduled to leave the airport at 1:00 and my flight was scheduled to land a little after noon. But my flight was delayed, so I called dispatch in Phoenix and told them I thought I would still land in time but it would be up to baggage claim after that. She informed me that he could wait as late at 1:10 pm. My flight landed at 12:35 and I bee-lined it for the baggage claim, no bags yet, so went and found the van and told the driver I was here and I just needed to wait for my bag. It was 12:45. At 1:00 I came out and told him that the carousel was turning but no bag yet. He told me he was about to leave without me, that "this insn't just about YOU." I said I couldn't help my circumstances and I'd be back as soon as my bag came. When it finally came and I ran out to the curb and jumped in the van, it was 1:11 pm. There was one other person on the van, and I told her I was sorry to keep her waiting and thanks for that. As he pulled off the curb, he started in on me again. "You know, it's not just about you. Other people are waiting for you." I replied again that I was sorry, it was not a deliberate act. My flight was delayed and I had to wait for my bag. I had only delayed the van by 11 minutes and had been told by dispatch that it could wait as late at 1:10, so really ONE minute. I asked him to stop lecturing me and he became more angry and said, "If you're going to start arguing with me you can get out of the van right now!" I replied, "I'm not arguing, I apologized for the delay and I simply asked you to stop lecturing me." He said, "Well I can kick you our of this van right now!." At that point I calculated that I should just shut up and swallow my pride so I could get home to my family. After a period of silence things became more cordial and the ride home was fine. Did I mention that he would repeatedly, and loudly, "hawk a loogie" and then swallow it?....."
"Tommy was unfortunately a very unpleasant driver. I had to go to the bathroom twice on a 5 hour trip since I take a diuretic and Tommy really shamed me and made me feel bad for asking. Tommy told me I needed to stop drinking water (I didn't drink any on the trip since I knew that was a recipe for disaster!), to pace myself, to hurry, and a whole bunch of other comments in a very hostile tone. This was after Tommy kept asking me while I had headphones in to listen to this or that band they liked, which I politely engaged (since I figured I would have to ask Tommy to go to the bathroom a bunch and being nice would behoove my efforts on that front later, to be totally honest). Would never take this trip again, Tommy made me feel so small and stressed the whole way there."
"On a full day tour of Yellowstone with a guide named Daryll. Just terrible. Full van but no speakers. Voice so soft that he's asking us to relay his minimal narration to the rest of the van. Looks to be a very very long day. Update:. Only getting stranger. Daryll is keeping up a conversation with the passenger next to him, leaving the rest of us to interact with each other. 30 minutes behind schedule. Update:. Just missed old faithful. Here for an hour to see it again. Daryll continues his conversation with the nice lady next to him. He clearly see himself as a driver and not a tour operator. Literally no narration between stops. Looking like a big waste of five hundred dollars. Daryll announced, if he was a passenger in this tour, he'd ask for a refund. Says it all."
"Called upon for transportation and lift tickets to Targhee for our group of 9. Pickup was on time as well as drop off. Our driver "Jesse" was a walking / driving encyclopedia (ask your parents). He did warn us he talked a lot on the way to BUT would be much quieter on the return . He filled us with history, trivia, weather, trail and lift details as well as his favorites and ideas. This dude is happy and full of life. He took his job seriously and was respectful. And the best part, once we unloaded at the mountain he pointed out where the bus would be parked for the day, he got out his skis and off he went too! My favorite Jesse quote " for those of you that care, we just entered Idaho, for those of you that don't care, we just entered Idaho" lol also Snow Sublimation is a word and the process of snowpack evaporating - thanks again Jesse! Will use again (only if Jesse goes) and would recommend,"
